Squawk wrote:So Sojourner, given the problems with South's feeder SFL clubs being lowly ranked in the SFL, does this mean the strategy is dommed in this 5-year planning cycle? Will South have to return to recruiting more from other clubs/interstate leagues? And what does this really mean for the reserves and u/18s teams?

Not necessarily, what it means is that we have to keep working on getting our feeder clubs up to standard instead of just sitting back and doing nothing about it. The club is working very diligently on this problem at the moment. I also think that real success from the SAFC in the SANFL will help the club connect with the SFL in the short term, I suspect that people might have more desire to play for a side that is the dominant side of the competition as opposed to one that capitulates week in and week out.

Serious answer, why don't you just say what you think.....

I count that as 22, WCP, not everyone who follows football know every answer, us Southies know all about our beloved Panthers, never be afraid to let them know you know more about footy as they do just because the happen to follow winning teams.

South have done nothing that all other successful clubs have done over the years, if you have not the talent in your own backyard, go and get it from other areas that have the talent but cant crack it into the big time. What we are doing better at since Ronnie has been here is to get out amongst the zone and sell the benefits of putting in the hard work and getting the rewards, not just think the $$$$ are better here or there and finish up another football nobody, and there are thousands of them around.

I wasn't there and haven't seen any tv footage. Sooooooooo, purple sox on the Eagles? Is that right FFS?
What would Bob Hank, Lindsay Head and Freddy Bills say about that?
Or Blighty, McKellar, Zip Zap Sewer for that matter? Weak as piss I reckon

IF I didnt know the scores and just read this thread I would think SA won by 40+ today
In the end it was 15 points !

4 wins and a draw[all points at Carlunga] now gives SA a sniff for the finals
Huge game v PA next week at Alberton
SA really need to win a couple of away games to stay in the finals race

Providing its not the team I follow, it will be great to see a SA win a Grand Final in the next few years

I think its just a reflection of where most saw these sides. Eagles should have had at least an easy 4 goal win up there despite the conditions. The wind down there makes that one end so massively favoured that it's almost impossible to play normal footy.

But when most see the Eagles as a top 3 side and the next best threat to the flag after Norwood and Central, while South are supposedly battling for the spoon, it either shows we've judged one or both wrong, or that it's a really big result for South.

was pretty shocked at some of the sprays Cica was handing out to his team-mates today, especially to Salter suggesting he does not want to be at the Eaagles.

Shocked? The Eagles are playing terribly & probably need a bloody good kick in the arse! Gowans' do it every weekend to their teammates, win, lose or draw!

I had the free kicks (which does not include out on the full) as 33-28 Eagles way, total of 61 for the match.

I'll leave it at that.
