Glad to see Norwood folk have not reacted by inferring that champions like Gary Window, Peter Vivian or
John Platten were hopeless failures in any way.
Let’s be fair gentlemen, could you please ask Messrs Jonas, Clarkson and Laird just how successful they would
have been as coaches in a club facing the player loss, bankruptcy and extinction that was Macca’s lot?
I’m sure they’d tell you the truth. To take us through our darkest hours and to survive meant more at the time
than any Premiership.
Gary McIntosh remains an ultimate achiever on and off the field. Best of all, he told those Vic @rseholes where
they could shove their filthy loot on many occasions. I think we can lay off South Australian ‘football royalty’
from ALL clubs.
And just for fun, I believe since 1964 ……….
Wooden spoons: Norwood - 2, Central - 2
Premierships in a first rate league: Norwood - 5, Central - Zero

Just interested in whether Norwood fans are counting 1997 as a first rate comp flag or not. If so does is the concept of first rate and second rate merely associated with Norwood's rating as a first rate or second rate SANFL club?
Also on the point of McIntosh, he might have been in charge of the team when the club was going through a rough time off field, but he was just the coach. Credit for keeping a club afloat goes to the board, CEO and the other off field people. I'm sure you can have a go at Gary Window's coaching record because even Centrals fans say how bad he was.
