Yeah, Roy Laird has been on record saying this is one of the youngest 'squads' he can remember coaching. I think the 10 with less than 20 games experience is a new high for Laird, the game against Norwood had 9 from memory and with Templeton debuting in this game, there is another one added.

As far as I'm aware, Jason Sutherland played a lot of his junior footy for the Smithfield Football Club. Yes, he has played at a lot of clubs scattered across various country leagues and interstate as well and we know of course he played at Glenelg, but Smithfield is in the heart of the Doggies local reigon.

Jacob Templeton is a Trinity Gollege (Gawler) lad and played a bit of junior and senior football for Golden Grove (yes, part of Norwood's zone but there a few GG lads are playing now or have played at Centrals before) and has the basketball background moreso. I would consider him a local though and Sutherland for that matter.

Regarding zoning i think we have learnt that it is the players living address thats taken into account when zoned.

Also as Big Phil said Sutherland did play some juniors at Smithfield and also spent a fairly large portion of his life hanging around the Northern Suburbs including when he was playing for Glenelg. Most of his family also live in Craigmore and Elizabeth Park.

How good was Pumpa celebration after kicking that bomb infront of the members stand.

Until he remembered to go and join in with his teammates. Obviously had the blood pumping when he soccered sideways off the ground at the next bounce. Has proven to be a very valuable addition to the squad. Ruckwork still got some improving, but around the ground he's as effective as most lead ruckmen, while his tackling and work around the packs would be up there with the best in the comp. If he can keep improving his tank, ruckwork and marking he'll end up being, IMHO, the #1 ruckman in the comp.

Totally agree Graham,

and even with his ruckwork while he doesnt win alot of effective hitouts and his opponents generally get more hitouts they dont tend to punish us much either, the ball generally just hits the deck.

as most would know im obviously biased but imho Sutherland and Milnes second efforts and speed at which they get to ground is probably the best in the league.

Sutherlands marking ability is getting better every week as his confidence grows.

Just a quick thought.

Potentially both Symes and Gunston could be dropped from the Crows this week. Callinan will more than likely debut this week but he is no certainty.

1/ If they dont play for the Crows will the games count for the Dogs or only Callinans because he played last week for us.

2/ Also would all three be required to play reserves for South Adelaide lol.

Personally, I'm not 100% convinced Callinan will get the call up?

IF both Symes and Gunston got dropped by the Crows, Adelaide would make the decision to either let them have a week off from playing or would send them to the SANFL reserves competition to find some form, in which case, this would count as a game toward SANFL qualification.

IF the Crows do drop Gunston and Symes (Brad Symes had 28 touches, a lot were turnovers I know, but I don't think he will be dropped) and they didn't play SANFL reserves, I think Central would get that as a qualification game also (like S.Cochrane in mid 2000's).

Also, the 2 Adelaide based AFL clubs will ensure that the bottom SANFL Reserves side (South in this instance) doesn't get stacked with fringe AFL players, they just spread them out amongst other lower ranked clubs. I remember Jacob Surjan played for Norwood's 2's at the start of the year.

I expect they'll make Callinan first emergency.

And then go on to beat Geelong in a glorious, couragous victory!

You cant change a winning side after that ;)
