do the big 6 clubs have the u17 rule where a player who is u17 playing senior footy wears a red armband and is supposed to be given a break by the senior players?

it is a rule in indy footy and a rule of which im a big fan. there has however, especially this year in my opinion been a bit of abuse (perhaps not by clubs but by the red armband wearing u17 player) of the system.
umpires are instructed to keep an eye out foor these kids and award free kicks if they arent treated right. however some of these kids seem to take this as an open invitation to mouth off at the opposition at every opportunity and also have sly little hits etc in packs. this especially happened to me against one mallee club.
as i said im a big fan of this rule, lots of clubs at some stage will need to get kids from the colts to fill in and make up the numbers, however if these kids are using the opportunity to make pricks of themselves perhaps the rule doesnt work properly and needs scrapping or at the very least fine tuning.
anyone else encountered something similar or have thoughts?

doesn't happen in the RFL. Nor should it. a lot of the 17 year old's are giving the older blokes a football lesson.

Not sure what happened to the Warriors on the weekend, down by 110 points to the bottom side who had not won a game!
It seems there is a massive difference between the Warriors best and worst.

Big weekend at Roverland this weekend with Dale "Snail" Lellmann playing his 400th senior game.
Still racks up the touches and goals in the B grade, and often has someone running with him.

A Massive Achievement.

Disappointed at being dropped to the B grade after a good performance in the A grade from what I understand.

From NFC:

Dear Supporters

We regret to advise you that the Norwood Football Club & Toby Schulz have parted ways.

Toby has been frustrated with the amount of opportunity that he has had at senior level and after consultation with the senior coach about what was required for him to be a part of the senior group he now believes that he may have better opportunities elsewhere.

He advised the club yesterday that he would seek a transfer to another club.

We wish Toby well for the future & thank him for his efforts whilst playing at Norwood.

Considering they haven't recruited anyone and last year's major recruit, Jason Sutherland, is now at Centrals, I'd say their spending is dramatically reduced on last year and results to date would put some clubs (Barmera, Loxton North, Loxton, Waikerie), who have clearly spent a lot more, to shame.
Good luck to Toby and the Dees!

They're certainly shaping up as a premiership threat.
Probably only lacking a quality player as they are well coached and structured.
Schulz could be that man.
Would be an amazing effort if Berri went back-to-back this year, considering its player losses from its 2010 flag.
Would also be much more rewarding for those involved I would think.

Good Luck to Berri, finding players at this time of the year is hard work...... For you to comment on what other clubs are paying, is just heresay..... I'm sure that Loxton North would love to dispute this...... how would you know what other clubs are spending.... and how would you know what Berri are spending, do they send you a monthly newsletter......
