Watched Fargo for the first time the other night .. Always knew I would enjoy it but for some reason had continually put it off .. Frances McDormand was excellent in it and the Cohen Brothers always do their thing well.

Can believe you'd never seen it before

Outstanding film imho...have you tried another Cohen Bros treat...Oh Brother Where Art Thou...reckon it's just as good.

Yep seen that one ... For some reason (maybe mood? I dunno) couldn't get into it so only watched about 20 minutes, but then a mate told me it was awesome so I hired it again and loved it .. Man Of Constant Sorrow became a regular on the MP3 player among the lads when we'd all hit the beers.

Watched Shutter Island last night for the first time ... Despite managing to pick up the sneaky direction it was trying to take, fairly early on in the piece, I thought it was a bloody good movie.

Well acted, brilliantly directed (shades of Hitchcock all throughout) and thought provoking .. Think I'll need to give it another view to see if I can pick any holes in it.

Bridesmaids

Consistently amusing rather than riotously funny.

Though it does have some LOL moments.

Reakon the earlier, rougher draft of the script I read was funnier.

Hardly a gross-out comedy, either. Apart from a scene or two. I'd say "honest".

Having lived with girls on a university campus, they were a million times worse...

Pretty good animated movie but could've been a bit longer than 70 odd minutes, still an excellent buy for $10.

I enjoyed it. The animation these days is unbelievably real. But it is longer than the original and I thought the storyline was much more complicated to follow for kids. A kid's opinion would be better. As an adult, I thought it was great. My 4 year old fell asleep.

The oldies reviewed it on the movie show last night - checked their website this morning. David gave it 4 & 1/2 and Margaret 2 & 1/2 (Margaret doesn't like animation though apparently, hence her low rating). I find them to be a pretty good guide usually, I don't watch their show (they waffle on two much!) but I check their website regularly for their reviews.

I found lot's of hidden lines in the first one, I thoroughly enjoyed the hidden stories behind the bigger picture, it showed kids that winning wasn't everything and there was forms of discipline that the kids could relate to.
I'm going Tuesday week, not sure whether we'll see the 3D option or not, whatever is at the most convenient time. I'm looking forward to it though, I wont be telling my kids until we are at the cinema.

Watched The Illusionist last night, starring Edward Norton and Jessica Biel and thought it was a great movie.

They're two of my favourite actors for varying reasons.
