He has also being sacked with the Glenelg Football Club being in a lot stronger positon now than when he first got the job.

Similar to A.Jarman in that regard.

Centrals by 15 pts

Result will depend on who Ian Callinan plays for ;)

Back on track...

I think Glenelg should have handled this situation better, I do feel sorry for Mickan - should have been given the respect to see the year out.

As I said to a poster on here, it's easier to find 1 new coach than 10 SANFL quality footballers. ;)

What a disgrace !!!! When will this incessant conspiracy against the North Adelaide Football Club end ????? The Bays are garuanteed to come out breathing fire and brimstone and an easy win has just been DASHED !!!!!

Note to M Mickan "give D Healy a ring and then ring Phill Hoffmann"

I'll wait a few weeks until I pass judgement on the sacking. If, as a lot of 'informed' posters on this site suggest that it was a player led revolt, then I'll be mega p!ssed if they don't come out on Saturday beat North by heaps.

Good luck Mass, your audition begins now.

It's never pretty when a coach gets sacked. Not many get to leave on their own terms.

Don't believe that personally, he seemed to be taken absolutely unawares - and I'm not sure he's capable of pretending otherwise.

Cornesy was fantastic in that interview it has to be said. Was gold when Metcalfe was bleating about Rubbers being the second longest Bays coach (also in the press release) ...until Cornsey corrected him that he's actually the third

Should have been given the remainder of 2011 IMHO to see how the season pans out.

I don't know about 'last', but Neil Kerley was sacked after being runner-up in 1962 and winning a flag the year before.

Merv Keane 1988 after Elimination Final loss. Not sure if he's the most recent but he's the last one I remember.

Was Clarkson sacked or did he resign from Centrals in the 2003 pre-season?
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

He resigned to take up a coaching role with the Power (Midfield Coach IIRC)

its the right call even if only half of what Ive heard is true. We wernt going to have an impact this year with Mickan and he wasnt going to be there in 2012 so why not bring the decision forward while the season is still alive? We now have a small shot at challenging this year.

Rowey quitting would be the best thing to come out of this.

That wasn't a popular decision either. Also was the beginning of your wooden spoon run.

Makes me feel like downing a bowl of vanilla ice cream !
Good move in my opinion Glenelg were going nowhere this year and Mass will make a great coach.
Time will tell but I think this will make Glenelg more a danger now.

Yep, I don't see too many people in this forum urging him to reconsider.

Metcalf said he had spoken to all the Assistant coaches personally and they all agreed to see the season out. EXCEPT Steven Rowe, who he left a voice message for to speak about it later tonight
