Sacred Heart were wonderful on Saturday, there ball movement was sublime. If they had a big ruckman they would be the best side in the comp by a very long way. Kicking for goal however was slightly worse. Good game of footy and played in great spirits untill the half way mark of the last Quater when the usual, Salisbury and Centerlink comments started to be thrown around and the typical Drug references, but seriously guys, you guys pairs an obscene amount of money on education, surely you could come up with something original...

Top 3 sides are all looking good this year, PAOC strong and Salisbury, SMOSH and Mawson Lakes looking to Round out the five. Been a far better year at Salisbury and heading in the right direction.

Maybe Salisbury ruckman was just way too good.

Should be a cracker up at Harpers field this week. Good game last time so hopefully we can field a strong side and have a real crack. Be good to put a few faces to the names on here and have a fizzy with you lads after the game. Just quietly, good call port boy. ;)

We were terrible at kicking for goal, think it was maybe 2.6 at one stage so better toward the end.

Overall it was a pretty good game to play in with no real big incidents. I think a couple of the Salisbury lads probably ruined it by going for the man a bit - the guy who was sent off does it every week apparently (according to my man) and it was good to hear his own players having a go at him and then there was one other shorter lad in the long sleeve jumper dishing out some cheap ones. But yeah a good bunch of guys overall who were joking around and having a laugh in the last quarter.

Our team at the moment is a bit up and down due to losing players to higher grades, we ended up having 2 called up to the B grade which filtered all the way down to us and then another lad pull out on the morning. Managing the team is probably the hardest part with 7 on the bench and trying to give guys missing out a go each week. So come finals time hopefully we can manage to get in a more settled side. At one stage we actually had 3 ruckmen, but they have been promoted due to form and injuries.

Ball movement was exceptional as you expect from the strong College sides, Pace was good across the board and Game plan in place and executed well. All of the Salisbury lads are good quality, however poor umpiring does frustrate most and a few tend to let their emotions get caught up in the heat of the moment. Umpiring from the Salisbury lads was not always correct, however I felt he called it as he saw it, even if it was at times incorrect. It's been a far better season at Salisbury flowing from the Coaches and the Top Sides succsess. Improvement each year is all we can strive for no matter which grade we are playing.

Someone said earlier that the Sacred Heart ruckman was really good, I agree. He actually was one of the only ruckman that I can think of over the past 2 years to consistently beat our ruck stocks.

As for Saturday's game any chance Flinders Park might be dropping a few players down from the C-Grade? an 87 point win earlier in the year in C3 might mean that they could afford to drop a couple of players down to the D-Grade and still win in the C-Grade. I am not commenting on whether its the wrong or right thing to do just a bit curious if it will happen or not.

And Finally for Port Boy I say things on here unfortunately in the heat of the moment and I do regret things I say, I also understand it does reflect poorly on the club, however people should not forget that they are my personal views and opinions.

WTF!!!!Why would we do that!! That is not going to help us in any way. The D grade always get what is left over at our club. You will be playing the normal D grade side with no sneaky tricks. I can't believe you would say that. One thing i will say is that we had a few out first time we played you so i hope we are able to pick our normal side depending on injuries above.

Golden grove mentality? Y would the better players play in a higher grade rather than sand bag in the D grade? Just the normal thought process for the youth of today i think.

Yep Hoareyy should be a cracker out at the burra dome this satdee. Rd 2 was one of the better contested games I've been involved in for a long while. If you blokes kicked straighter early on in the game think the result would've been different.

Should be a bit of a mud pit out at Harper's this wkend so bring the long stops!!

I'm not trying to disrespect your club but from what i've been told there's a few guys in your c-grade that have a contract with the club to only play c-grade but could easily play higher, sudja being one of them.

Mate you couldn't be further from the truth if you tried the closest thing to a contract is a signed beer coaster haha people are played where they are picked and trust me there is no loading of our sides just mates wanting to play with mates!! Me personally i'm playing in the D's and would like to play higher i've played in our last 2 c grade premeirships mate and would love to get back into the c's but the strength of the other grades is huge!! I understand where you're coming from but couldnt be further from the truth!!

That is a big joke around the club. The coaster thing is when we have all had too many beers. Sudjai played cricket with us this year and wasn't even going to play footy but after a few fizzies we conned him into playing. Yes he is a good player but can't be stuffed anymore and works weird shifts with the fire brigade. Trust me if we were stacking our C grade would our B grade be travelling as well as they are. As Hoarey said even the D graders are pushing to play higher.

Mate ive played higher levels of footy sanfl u/17s-19/s a grade down south! And would love to get back up to thos levels when my fitness gets back up!! As cows would say im carrying a bit to much guts for a young bloke!! But i can tottally understand why some players would wanna stay down in lower grades its less serious more fun and most of the sides are built up of goood mates!!

We do have that attitude. We have a group of guys playing out our last few years with mates. Me personally I have played to play at my highest level possible since I started playing senior footy at 15, I am now 32 years old and I want to play where I want to play. If I went up to the C grade and played well I wouldnt get a look in any higher and nor should I. The C6 comp is where I want to play, in all honesty if the C grade coach took up all the guys he wanted it would still only be 4 maybe 5 guys at best. He has only asked from my knowledge 3 of us that played in his side last year, I am the youngest of these three. The perception that our d grade would do better in C3 than our C grade is rubbish.

32 Gee your not over the hill by any stretch. I played in the B grade last year and i'm 37. Like we have said before from a Flinders Park point of view it doesn't bother us. We enjoyed playing you guys and will again this week. It will be a cracker, unless it's a mud pit. How does Harpers look Tex??
