Did they line up the correct way this week? All we can ask for is some improvement and that would be a start.

It's 2011 NAB AFL Under 18's Championships not 2011 McDonald's State Under 18's.

Look forward to SA playing WA, Vic Metro and Vic Country.

Vic Country beat NT by 33 points today, and Vic Metro beat Qld by 85 points.

The Championship the side is playing in is titled 2011 NAB AFL Under18's Championship, yes, but our SA boys are the 2011 McDonald's State Under 18 side.

I started this thread not to post all the other state's results from the Championships, rather just the SA boys games and info, hence the title mate.

Anyway, regardless of what this thread title should or shouldn't be, a great result for Brenton Phillip's and the boys, a great start to the carnival, albeit against lower division sides.

Matthew McDonough is from Saint Michael's College - Taught him in year 4. Youngest of 3 boys and dominated for my side in the ISSA primary competition. He playued at Flinders Park and is still a College Boy with the 1st 18.

Comes from a really good family and missed out by one street being zoned to my beloved bloods and believe me, I tried to get him to westies too! :)

SA plays Vic Country this Saturday from 1.00pm at Adelaide Oval.

Such a pity that this game couldn't be played on Sunday given 8 SANFL sides are playing on Saturday and there is no AFL in Adelaide this weekend either.

WTF is going on with scheduling here?

They could have scheduled some SANFL games on Sunday (bar the ABC game), and the u/18s match on the Saturday as a curtain raiser there to an ABC game.

eg Saturday -
11.30am - SA U/18s vs Vic Country u/18s (Adelaide Oval - curtain raiser)
2.00pm - Sturt vs West (Adelaide Oval) - ABC televised game
3.45pm - Foxtel Cup, Port vs North (schedule at AAMI given no AFL Football there this week).

Sunday
Norwood vs South (Coopers)
Central v Glenelg (Elizabeth)

This Sunday schedule would have given the Bays and Norwood an extra day off after playing on Monday of this week, and given amateur league players and supporters a chance to attend a SANFL game. It also means more fans could have been drawn to Adelaide Oval to watch the State u/18s on the previous day.

5 games on Saturday, yet nothing on WSunday, on a weekend devoid of AFL footy?

I was just saying I wouldn't have minded being able to go see the u/18s but no matter where your interest, you can only choose to go to one game this weekend.

Bayman will be livid.

I wouldn't call it a whinge if you are looking at my post - moreso a point of constructive criticism.

Why wouldn't that work tsg? A bit of flexibility and the right promotion and its winners all round surely. SANFL must have a promo fella switched on to foresee these type of development opportunities. Haven't they?

Great win by the Under 18 lads today, well done to the side and to Sticks Phillips.

What a 2nd half of football by the SA boys, kicking 15.14 to Vic Country's 4.2 after half time, that's 29 scoring shots to 6

I didn't see that second half coming as in the first half it only looked like a matter of time before the floodgates opened for Vic Country, they moved the ball a lot better than we did and should have been a lot further ahead. The second half we worked a lot harder than they did, wanting the ball that much more. A great effort.

The last round is usually shown of Fox so hopefully that remains the case.

We have a good chance to win it this year.
