The Riddler wrote:Can someone explain how the clearance system works in the Hills League.....for example in the SAAFL if after 2 weeks a club does not clear a player the player can leave with no issues they also have a rule where a club can put down a reason not a clear a player as "required player".

Is this different in the Hills?

I think "required player" can be a reason, but if it goes to the tribunal twice, I don't think it's valid after that.
I know of players that weren't cleared because they weren't 'financial' ie hadn't paid subs at some stage.
I know that it has been hard work to get a clearance within the same division in the HFL.

Word has it two recruits by the name of O'Gorman and Woite (not sure if spelt right) were on the gas sunday night at Henley Beach and had the suit cases slapped out of em by one bloke before secruity could save em, all started over young O'Gorman mouthing off - as usual I hear.
Can either play the game ??

What does this have to do with their footballing ability? Yes both boys can play the game very well.

I was asking about there ability! They were letting all in ear shot know that they were good, I wanted to hear from others opinion.

Nah all reports say it wasnt bad, just OGorman mouthing off and his mates backing him in then one bloke stitched them all up and they got booted from the fine establishment.

If you haven't played for that club for 2 years you can go to your new club not an issue but if you have and the new club puts in for a clearance to the old club and the old club has not replied for 2 weeks then player can leave also with no issue.

Riddler - unless it has been two years your old club has to respond, that is clear you or put up a good reason not to, before you can play anywhere else..............I think.

well when flinn wanted to go to hahndorf he was told he had to play three years in other league and than he could play for hahndorf in the 4th year. so by 4th year he would no longer be tied to the raiders

Bloody hell, 3 years!
I know a bloke that was in the Port adelaide magpies zone. He wanted to go to Sturt. So he missed a year of SANFL, went to a regional team in the Sturt zone, then apparently would have been OK.
Sounds like it's different to HFL.
3 years is a long time in footy.

re flinn it could be 2 years but im pretty sure i was told 3 years. havn't seen flinn for couple months but heard he is training well. flinn has always been known for being lazy some times but is doing pretty well up there.

on the monty to medows, looks like all that needs to be done now is raiders signing him over. looks like monty just wants to play for the dogs.

DA - i certainly wouldnt be going as far as making the meat pie and bear call about flinny, hes just naturally a big man... around 6ft and pretty solid.. and doing well at mypo from all acounts of the last 2 yrs playing centre and foward line kicking plenty...
- i know (as im sure ronnie wud too) that in juniors if ur club doesnt clear you you can opt to sit out of footy for a yr and then your free to leave... but what club wud have problems clearing a junior right?? oh yehhhhh.

BCC I went to school with Flinny, so just stirring the pot.

You can't say he's not lazy though.

Plus he NEVER changes off the ball EVER. That's OK at shanty but on Loby?

no one was having a go at flinny. he has all the talent in the world but can be very lazy. da had a poinnt tho. flinn quality player neverless. as for the jnrs not clearing its hard for a club with not many numbers to just start clearing jnrs to other clubs. raiders did end up clearing a few jnrs but on the basis that they hard a heart the size of a pea!

You are on fire today Ron!

Silky - thats a classic. Embrace it cos that's one to tell the grandkids!!!

It reminds me of the famous Seinfeld episode 'Master of My Domain' where George's mum catches him smaking the sazz.
