Bays were a touch better today and there were some signs of improvement, but we are the 5th best team in the comp. My take is we simply arent working hard enough when we dont have the ball, Norwood too many times had 2-3 blokes on their own and were able to enter 50 way too easy. We also over possess the ball.

Was a high quality game though and an enjoyable day out.

Taylor Walker??
David Rodan??
Simon Phillips (very unlikely IMHO)

Problem will be fitting them all in! Great problem to have!! :D

I have asked before but how many has Walker played ? Wouldn't classify that list in the same as Centrals injuries.

I thought Pfieffer and Rowe were the difference today. Why isn't Rowe on an AFL list? He's a very talented player and was clearly the best big man on the ground.

A number of big calls in that post  [/quote]

Not afraid to make the call the writing was on the wall after last years finals fade out. Can't play 4 quarters and lucky to be 5th at the moment. Next week will be the defining answer % is very poor at the moment as well which will not help in the run home.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Rodan would be the same, very unlikely he would be allowed or would want to play finals even if he qualified with 5 games.

Jesse Aish also only fringe league player imho.

Galagher the only significant inclusion IMHO. If I was picking the team, Aish would be in for sure. Solid reserves player at best. Several others are unproven or fringe players.

Walker, Rodan, Philips all unlikely.

rodan won't play, GWS won't let walker play if he qualified, can phillips qualify ?, hughes, schulz & donohoe played 2's today so they could have been picked today ;) as for the other two not sure if they played today or are injured but aish plays more 2's than league games anyway

Norwood looked very good today, an away win is always a bonus for any club. As for lists of who is to come back into Norwood's side imagine how they might have gone if they had not been cleaned out in the AFL draft at the end of last season?

Think Norwood will given Central a good run in the finals, yet we will find out soon enough.

Not sure where too for the Bays from here, no doubt Mickan will be under pressure, yet who they can get that is actually better is anyones guess. Still, I also think that Glenelg are only a couple of recruits away from being more than competitive in the final five.

Paul Thomas would be happy if Tom Jonas didn't play. :D

As normal with Norwood we made it harder than it needed to be. A few lapses left Glenelg still in the hunt later than they possibly had a right to be. If we had kicked straight in the last quarter we would have won by four or five which might have been a truer indication of the game.

Bryce Campbell's last quarter had to be seen to be believed, Macca-esque.

Happier with the efforts of the lads over the 4 quarters. A few costly skill errors and there's the game.

Need a few older heads back in, Cranny & Murph would be good. Throw in Cornesy and the side is more balanced.

Good crowd.

It was interesting to me to see Panozzo and Ruwoldt running around in the reserves. Those two usually play very well against us, Ruwoldt in particular was possibly Glenelg's best player in their win at the Parade earlier this season. Is their form really that bad, or is Mickan re-modelling the team?

Centrals will win the flag in a canter. No one else close enough. They will now start to ramp up for the end of season assault for the flag.
Will get smashed by the Dogs at Elizabeth next week.

A bit of both. Both haven't done much except Ru's game v your mob. Pannoz has been pushed out by McMahon and can't find a permanent position.....

Overall a good game of footy and a good day out! Great crowd too - thought it might have even been higher than 6,552 but who knows how they count the numbers these days at SANFL....

Was a bit diasappointed that a half time, both hot dog stands ran out and the central canteen was also sold out of pies and pasties. We've had similar problems at Norwood in years gone by, but at least they didn't run out at the BBQ or the beer venues ;)

Glenelg played some very good footy at times today and given the Dogs are yet to win after the bye this year (IIRC!), the Bays are a chance next week at Dog Park. :D
