Well protect your head with your doll as you go into your fit because they are the facts.

Yet you were never up by 4 goals... ever...

...and last time out we beat u by 10 goals.

Well done maestro. Good use of the word fact.

Just give him a kiss and a cuddle before you go to bed.

Definitely the better side today , should of won by 4 goals but didn't.

Due to our poor decisions going into the 50 and inaccuracy on goal.

Put the shades on,your future looks too bright.

hands in the back against McLeay, Happened right in front of me on the Northern Grandstand side flank with scores level. Definitely no hands involved, Eagles player was worked under the ball with the hip. That type of free was paid all day to both sides

The controlling umpire is new to league ranks and should have a spell back in the 2's IMO after stuffing that one up.

Exactly where I was too heater, I was in a direct line with the umpire and the players. No way was it a free kick. Well, at least if that pay that, it is not the style of football or umpiring I want to see, because I thought McLeay did well in that contest. All day, though, the umpires would be reasonable for 20 minutes and then lose the plot and pay weird stuff for the next 5.
Sturt played with more intent than the Eagles, agree OWW, we need to be less cute, and once we got ahead I reckon a few of our players thought it was just going to roll on.
Thought Parry, Grocke, Staple, Greiger, Golsdworthy at times and Day were probably our better players. Sutcliffe will develop into a reasonable player.
Good barbie and cupcake (no donuts ;) )too, well done to the volunteers under the grandstand.

Quote "Umpire had to pay that free kick to Stapes if they were to be consistent.

Thought we were 4 goal better team on the day , didn't take our opportunities.

Sturt had a fair crack but played counter attack all day , which nearly paid off.

We need to be less cute and more direct to the big fellas in the forward line.

It was a dirty win but someone's got to do it.

Collected a few silver spoons on the way out of Unley , bit tarnished though."

Idiot comment
The umpire didn't HAVE to pay that free kick because IT WASN'T IN THE BLOODY BACK!! If McLeay had his arms or hands in his back then you could argue that it would be a soft free BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE HIS ARMS OR HANDS IN HIS BACK!!
Two stupid comments in the one post.

The clowns on this site blaming the last free kick when Sturt were given exactly the same thing in the goal square a couple of minutes earlier to level the scores - forget that one did we.

Suck it up whinging Sturt fans. It's a bit rich to blame one bad decision when the umpiring was woeful all day long. You got your fair share of dodgy decisions throughout the day (from Crosby in particular). How quickly you forget the following iffy free kicks that resulted in goals:
- High tackle in 2nd quarter 30 metres from goal after the Sturt player was tackled once, dropped the ball, picked the ball up and tackled again, then the 3rd tackle was supposedly high. It should've been called holding the ball twice before being a high tackle.
- Aaron Day called holding the ball late in the 3rd quarter 25 metres from goal when unable to dispose of the ball because it was being held to him in a tackle with no prior opportunity to dispose of it.
- Soft free kick in marking contest late in the last quarter that allowed Sturt to close the margin to one point.

Then you can also mention the blatant holding the ball in the first quarter that should have been paid to the Eagles in the goal square but wasn't, only for Sturt to take the ball down the ground to score a goal.

Just like you could argue that one free kick cost Sturt the game, you could also argue that some free kicks allowed Sturt to be so close to the Eagles.

In my opinion, we were poor (definitely didn't play like the top 3 team that we want to be), Sturt were equally poor, and the umpires were the worst I have seen for quite a long time. At the end of the day we are 7-3 going into the bye and needing to improve particularly with forward line delivery if we are to challenge for a top 3 spot.

I won't speak for others but I haven't blamed the umps for Sturts loss, merely commented on how bad the umpiring was, just that that last one was the icing on the cake.

I am not blaming the loss on one umpiring decison but the free kick that resulted in a match winning goal was simply ridiculous and that ummpire should enjoy the reserves next week and unfortunately that 1 free kick determined the game as it was so late in the game. This is not hard to comprhend I wouldn't think. One poster has posted 3 free kicks they should have got , no arguement but 3 is good considering what Sturt did not get.Enough said on the again woeful standard of umpiring.

Once again Sturt lost due to their skills and Luke Normans robotic rotations and crazy moves . Norman is obsessed with rotating players and Luke Crane IS NOT A WINGMAN. But we had no one else I suppose  Brodie Martin , Tambling ???? Tambling was ordinary early but moved into the guts and looked good but then kept spending time off the ground ? I liked Hentschells game he presented well but was only playing on McLeay who is just too slow and way out of form. Interesting some comments about Luke Jarrods ability to obtain a hardball .

At the end ofthe day the Eagles are better than Sturt but are overrated from what I have seen.

I could go on and the strong past Sturt player contingent probaly were disappointed as well. It's a good season to be honest ,although my side will not play finals there is no easy game.I think we will finish bottom but there is only 2 certainties this year . Centrals will win the flag comfortably and Norman wont coach Sturt next year.
