Another slow 1st term killed us today.. was scared it was going to be another performance like the norwood game at qtr time today. Was very happy with the fight we showed to make central work for the win and not roll over..

Must say a BIG THANKS to Centurion for the hospitality that he showed today with the seat in the Presidents lunch and throughout the day.. made a losing day at the footy a very enjoyable 1

How did young Corey Reichart go at FB, saw him last week against Nwd and thought apart from losing his feet a couple of times he held his own

Corey was OK today, but certainly nothing exceptional. I thought Jimmy Gowans was excellent in his return game and Eddie Sansbury held the backlines together and provided run and leadership. He has certainly taken his game up a notch from last year.
Good turn out of Maggies supporters today. Some good friendly banter and good atmosphere.
Centrals continue doing what they need to do to win.

Worse decision of the year was the David Haydon holding the ball in the second quarter, he was the only one of 4 who wanted the football.

Unfortunately, with the new interpretations this season, the decision was a correct one. Haydon was fantastic in his effort to win the footy when out numbered, but, as soon as he dived on the footy, he had to make an effort to get it out and on the replay, you can see he didn't. Correct call by the umpy there.

Looks like another injury this time Ryan Williams.

Don't know that it is anything serious other than a heavy corked thigh. He went down in the rooms after it happened for a jab* to see out the game and he returned to play the rest of the game in the forward line. I'd suspect he would be alright for the Bays game at Elizabeth next week.

The other injury for the Dogs out of the game was a calf injury to Chris Gowans. If it keeps him out of the side next week, Luke Habel would probably come in for C.Gowans as he had 37 disposals, 10 marks, 5 tackles, 6 clearances, 9 inside 50's and 4 rebound 50's in the reserves game yesterday.

Geez this is going to be the easiest flag they've won ever! The other teams have no idea how to compete anymore. Even Port had to try when it won all it's flags...

Surely even Central fans would like some competition here? I suppose the ordinary crowds at Dogs games probably reflects that the gloss of 2000-2005ish is gone for some.

Personally the crowd at this weeks game has indicated to me that the rise in the northern suburbs amatuer football clubs can be some part attributed to the smaller crowds at Central games.

The Northern end behind the goals was full of Eastern Park, Brahman Lodge, Elizabeth, Central United, Smithfield blokes who use to be regulars at all home games but now are affiliated with their amauter clubs.

The clubs needs to get the lights up and running for next year or experiment with a sunday game or two, though you will lose alot of the soccer people who support the club and they do make a fairly good portion.

Dunne was good too! Kyle Robert Jenner is a human dynamo, his game today was excellent, not mentioned by Roy tonight! He is guts personified. Sat between 2 Port supporters today, just got out of the shower, STILL can't get the smell from my skin!
