Watched the movie last night. A must see for all cricket lovers. I vaguely remember the WI tour in 1979/80, so it was great to see some of the highlights from back then. Watching Viv Richards being bounced by Rodney Hogg, loose his cap, pick it up, brush the dust off, then hook the very next ball for 6 was fantastic. As someone said in the movie, "Viv was the only player who could intimidate players with a bat in his hand". The WI copped plenty before their golden run of wins, and when they gave it back, some teams and countries did not like it at all.

FORM IS TEMPORARY. CLASS IS PERMANENT.

Absolute gun was Viv, my favourite Cricketer. No helmets for him.

I rememebr Wayne Phillips telling a story of when Marshall came back into the WI side in the '84 series in the Carribean he and Garner just spent the 1st hour of the 1st Australian Innings of the 3rd test seeing how far they could push Dujon back.

Wickets, runs immaterial. They just wanted to push him back further than what he stood for the other bloke the previous over. Phillips said it was scary. "Dujie how far you back for Joel?" "20 yards" said Dujon, "For me you stand 22". Next Over, "Dujie how far are you for marshy?" "22 yards" "Ok for me, you stand back 24"

Marshall just wanted to show he was still the man to lead the attack, Garner wanted to keep it after the first two tests....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Wow, looks like a must see

Is it in the cinemas currently? Where do we see it?

An amazing team full of amazing sportsman. How much money did they make for the ACB and Channel 9 from 1979-1995?
