He could probably play this week but because we have the bye next week id say Hirdy wont risk him

Not much chop without Watson are they? Eight losses in a row without Jobe.

Don't know how to rate the loss to Melbourne...

I suppose, even Gold Coast have won a couple...

Essendon on their worst day will still get rolled by a sporadic team like Melb/GC/Port (gulp!).

Therein lies the difference between Geelong and Collingwood, and the rest of the comp.

On Collingwood's worst day, coupled with Adelaide's best, the Magpies find a way to get the job done.

Essendon on their worst, not quite there yet.

Have improved out of sight, no question, but not at that elite level yet.

Agree with what you say MP. I am not expecting to be premiership contenders this year but under Hirdy we have shown a great deal of improvement. I hope we can stay in the top 8 and play a finals game or two this season, the experience will be excellent for the younger players.

Maybe in another couple years we can be a top 4 side and hopefully looking at playing in a GF.

News from Essendon is that he is a probable inclusion this week, along with Hurley.

You wont be a real contender until you do something about the jobe factor. Losing 7 straight when he is not playing is an issue, I know this will change as the team around him gets better but at the moment thats a real sticking point.

Yeah Jim they got embarrassed over there ;).

Serious though, it is tough to win over there against Freo, I would suggest that you guys will have a fair crack at the roos next week. You need to remember that Watson was clearly underdone and not at his best and typically he is your heartbeat.

Think Essendon would be far better off to save their money and cut Thompson from the Coaching Panel, if Hird cant do the job without his hand being held after this season is over, its likely that he isn't the man for the job.

One coach will win the premiership so are you saying none of the remaining 16 are not the men for the job?

Heat will be on who? They've already exceeded expectations this season, not likely the heat will be on Jim at any stage. Stop trying to pass the buck from your coach to ours! ;)
