I believe we didn't give north the respect they deserved and as a result, we have lost some respect.

I disagree with some of your post. I think the Eagles did show North respect and you could see from the outset with the "argy bargy" their was tension so there has to respect from both camps plus the fact the Eagles did their homework on Alleway and never gave him any space for 3/4's also showed respect. North certainly did respect the Eagles with Gallman niggling and tagging Lewis out of the game however with the Eagles it is running players like Treeby and Jarrad that seem to always dominate. Powell was very very good as was Grocke as usual against his former club.

You might argue the Eagles missed some "gimme" goals but so did North - 4 set shots in the first plus a Gill "classic" in the second didn't help us either.

Regardless of the result (easy saying that when you win!) we are playing a much better style of football under Francou but we have to not rest on this win and build on it. What worries me is that we may not see the likes of D. Armstrong, K. Thompson, Teasdale and Clisby past this year.

Fair points! By lack of respect, I'm refering to the fact that it seemed that the Eagles thought they had done enough to win the game early in the last quarter and didn't respect the fighting qualities of north and by the time they realised they were in trouble, it was too late.

Sorry coming in very late on the thread but did not see any lack of respect in the last 1/4 by anyone. What I did see was 2 sides dead on their feet and in real pain. North wanted the win more and kept pushing through the pain barrier. After a goal you could see players doubled over trying to gasp oxygen and hoping the restart would be delayed. It was an excellent game to watch, and not just because North won because I enjoyed the Central's game just as much as a football spectical.

The win did ice the cake, as did the supporters crowding the tunnel acknowledging the awsome game they had just witnessed.

Must admit that it's te first time in years I've purchased a DVD of the game after being a regular habit most weeks.
Looking forward to watching that last quarter again.
I don't think North have won a game being such firm underdogs since 2004.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, Punk got on at $4.20 and a heap of others including yours truly got on at $3.80.
John Thornton lost a fair bit that night!
Norwood were 5 goals up ag quarter time but we got up by close to 7 in the end. I think that was the night I did a solo pitch invasion!
