Talk on the national game

mad mat & ginger, i have to agree.
the midfield? where were they?
to many centre clearances from the roos for the backs to take.
remember when our defence used to win the one on one footy when the midfield didnt get a clearence? we are struggling to do that at the moment.
decision making & hitting up targets needs improvement & maybe get some of those blokes to bulk up a bit, we seem to have a lot of light framed bodies.
i still think there is a lot talent in this side and just needs experience and teaching but we seem to have been doing this for a while now.
on another note, do you think if Taylor Walker played for any other AFL club, would he be playing every week, or more than he has at crows?

I can relate to this. Was just chuckling to myself after a while watching our boys kick it to James Sellar and he would in turn, burn it. Lol.

Worst players:
Henderson: Clumsy and very out of touch
Moran: Barely got a touch or hitout and was a general disaster. Huge recruiting mistake.
Douglas: Was a butcher, turned it over time and time again.
Sellar: No comment.

Best players:
Tippett: I keep saying it, when we get it to him, he wins it. If he kicked slightly straighter, would have been right in it.
Johncock: Consistent defender.
Van Berlo: Did the job on Harvey
Jaensch: Uses the ball very well, smart footballer.

Yeah i wasnt angry watching this game. I laughed like many on here seemed to have done. Simple errors, no confidence when we had the footy, second to the ball constantly, terrible inside 50 but the defence performed very well under the constant barrage of attacks.

I must say Rutten keeps getting forgotten. As Shaun Rehn said on the radio, Rutten is an A grade AFL player and very under rated since his AA year/s (cant remember if he got more than one). One of our most valuable players IMO

I have supported NC all along but like Ginger and Felch said, i think his time has come. I think he has done more than any coach would have got out of an average/slightly above average squad in his time at AFC. The list he has compiled has the talent for sure and we are in a good spot to go forward. However, there is no point appointing someone for the sake of change. We will just set ourselves up to fail ie Richmond

Was gonna put Rutten in there but Petrie kicked a bag (or seemed to). Agree, him, Johncock and Jeansch have been shining lights.

x 3 on the comments about not being angry watching yesterday's game. The Brisbane game snuffed out all hope I had for Adelaide proving the critics wrong. Results are out the window now for me, it's all about seeing improvement now.

I think the trigger should not be pulled on Craig until the end of the year. He's up against it, but a mid season coaching change benefits no one IMO. Give him until the end of the year, and then do a comprehensive review of the season and the list, and the coaching staff. Although we will now miss the finals, there is still plenty of footy left this year and plenty of opportunity to stop the slide and build a solid base for the 2012 season.

Like FS said, I still believe we have a very talented list, and in the end having a couple of difficult years will only make them a stronger outfit in the long run.

It was a very laughable day yesterday. I never thought I would see the Crows not hungry for the ball and accepting this as passable!
When is something going to be done about the useless 1 handed attempts at a tackle and going straight to ground?!?
North would have been over the moon when the crows took Moran. Selling him as gold covered 5h!t, when all he is, is 5h!t!
Henderson is really overdue to be dropped and IMHO should be dropped for the rest of the year. Does not have anything to offer the team. If the ball falls the right way anyone can pop up and kick a goal or two here and there.
The hard word needs to be put on a few of the "players" from the weekend because that is not acceptable week after week! Especially with the best list we have had in ages (that is the best joke I have heard in a while)!

Considerable height difference and weight of numbers (ball coming inside 50 with minimal pressure) i thought he battled hard and Petrie would have kicked more than 4 if Rutten hadnt played well.

Jeansch has shown plenty pace and skill, great more by NC.

GN i def wouldnt be changing during the year, especially with no stand out replacement coach available!

The missed tackles was mind-boggling. We made that spud Scott D Thompson look good. I don't think he was tackled once.
We made a lot of spuds look good. I don't rate Ziebell as highly as several of our players but there he was, tearing up. Lol

Another positive I didn't mention was Sam Jacobs. Didn't mind his effort either. He will be a premium ruckman in coming seasons.

Totally agree about Sauce. I also forgot to mention the lack of accountability by majority of the team.
Who (when being smashed in clearances) doesn't go man on man in the midfield?
I am very happy I have a sense of humour or I would be harming myself by now.

Big Jacobs has been excellent. Unfortunately it makes our midfield even more frustrating to watch though given that we have now have a ruckman that gets his fair share of hitouts, but we still can't clear it. Argh! :?

Agreed, maybe it was my poor eyesite but it looked like Jacobs was winning the taps in the middle and NM or Swallow were getting a lot of ball from his taps. The commentators made comment of not one Crow being on the attacking side at centre ball ups and that this is where NM were hitting the ball. Looked more like Jacobs winning some and they were reading it better. Could we have picked a worse time in our history to bottom out! I cant see where our next win should come from??
