Onkas clicked when they kicked your overpaid and rated pretenders off the park Lebron [/quote]

FM, care to name any of these players? Other than Fisher & Block (who you & others have previously bagged) do you know any other players?

Blackwood versus Bridgewater

A-Grade – Bridgewater (15.8.98) were defeated by Blackwood (22.13.145)

This was actually a very good game on the tight confines of Bridgewater Oval with Bridgewater matching Blackwood for long periods of the game. But Blackwood’s big forwards (Dundovic, Gigney and Hopton) were too strong for the defence of Bridgewater kicking 13 between them. Things don’t look as bad as people for the Raiders. There young kids certainly give it a red-hot go and don’t stop trying all game if they play like that the rest of the season I can see them maybe winning a game or too. They just need to recruit a few hard experienced bodies.

B-Grade – Bridgewater (5.4.34) were defeated by Blackwood (25.12.162)

Under 17’s – Blackwood by 19 goals

Under 15’s – Draw

Under 13’s – Blackwood by 6 goals

He is overated and paid where ever he plays. BUT that is the problem with Footy these days. To much coin being wasted on average footballers.

Have Bridgewater done some mid season recruiting? Big improvement in the last couple of weeks based on the scores.

apparently not, just a group of young men slowly learning what's required to be competitive in central division.

The improvement was unlucky for Onkas, they could have used a percentage boost as they are currently over 9% behind Hahndorf who are 5th.

The way the comp is going percentage could easily be the deciding factor for who makes the finals.

But well done to Bridgy, cant see them staying in Central but if they keep improving will be more than competitive in Country.

Uris spank another top 3 team. I know it's only June but my comment last week doesn't seem too outlandish, does it :)
By no means does that mean I don't want the Devs to get up
lebron were you at the game? What were the biggest factors in the 70-point difference? Uri must have that much confidence after the last fortnight it's not funny.

Saw the last three quarters only. Uri were first to the ball, in front, ran harder and its skills were sensational. The S and R Ebert can kick the footy! They were too good everywhere, the Roos were no good, but put that mostly down to Uri! If they play like that in their 2 finals, they will be premiers again!

Is T.V. being shown that there is a real difference between Country and Central?

Perhaps but they lost many players on coming up and have replaced 1/2 that with super players but probably hard to guage how close they are to last season.

You are better to base the standard on the teams who have been up and down a couple of times in the last 15 years. Look at Ironbank, Birdwood, Echunga who all have had cracks at Div 1 and have finished between 5th and bottom of central but are grand finalists on their return to Country if they keep a reasonable squad.

Having not seen them play last year I am unsure if they are better or worse than they were, but I was told by one of their players before the start of the year that they think they are better.

If true then it is clear that the gap between the divisions is larger that a lot of Country people thought, as many expected them to at least make the 5.

Right now they are no where near it, to be honest I would only expect them to win one more game this year, and that is no monty with Bridgewater's improvement.

They just dont have the depth, their better players (who are decent) are heavily relied on.

On the flanks and pockets etc. they get flogged as some of the blokes out there would not play A's at Bridgewater.

Their B grade is also hopeless, no pressure coming from there. Juniors are getting flogged, closest game on the weekend was the A's, and they easily could have been done by 15+ goals.

I think the TV A-grade have been more competitive than many of us thought at the start of the year. They've won 3 games and pushed some other teams for 3/4's. Did we really expect any better given who they lost?

On the down side, their juniors are way out of their depth and the scorelines are embarrassing. Every week the three TV junior teams get hammered. This is not good and for this reason alone, TV should reconsider their desire to play in central division.

Where the hell is Vaughan? Saturday was almost like a win for the Raiders! And I'm tipping they will win one before the end of the season.

They lost half their best players from last year, check the Port Districts A2 side and you will find approx 6 players down there including both their joint mail medallists Mcdowell and Gunning from last year and the other mail medallist in Carter and others that are scattered around the place and some have retired. The only 2 descent players that stuck around for TV was Jaques and Tosold.

the breezer,
Do you think the league has played a part in these players leaving?
Making a club wait for 12 months after you put in to go up cant of
been good for their footy.
Playing 1 or 2 hard games a year then belting everyone else.
Surely good quality players want to play in a competitive league.
Maybe having to wait that extra year was just too much for them.
