Great signing by the Sixers but a little sad to see Hill go...

I'm certaintly not sad. The guy has been pretty ordinary the last few years ever since the elimination final a couple of years ago against the breakers. Hope for the team's sake Holmes and Dowdell go too.

Weigh signing is a big coup. Now for Schenscher and a couple of quality imports.

Spot on mate..... Both must go also. Holmes has given the club great service but it's time to stand up and make some tough decisions to take the club forward

Agreed on all counts here. Hill's good games were more a rarity than a norm. Too often, would have very low numbers for comparatively high court time. Never going to help take us to a championship. Dowdell the same.

Not sure that Holmes should go. Can certainly fill a role, but equally MUST find an offensive side to his game too.

Not exactly NBL news but Corey 'Homicide' Williams has left the Brisbane Spartans in the SEABL and returned to the US for family reasons. Interesting to note the Spartans other import is former 36er Cortez Groves.

Johno, I've heard that the SEABL is considered the strongest league of the ABL leagues so would make it the best league in the country outside the NBL.

A big day for signings with Melbourne completing their roster for next season. The rumours were true they've poached both of the Taipans imports from this season in Ayinde Ubaka and Ron Dorsey and have also re-signed Lucas Walker.

Also the 36ers have re-signed Darren Ng and the Wildcats have re-signed Brad Robbins.

Not sure about that with the SEABL. I don't really keep up with much of that league to be honest.

The Tigers teams does look good but as opposed to this past season's team I'd be concerned about their lack of size. Burston has always been injury prone throughout his career and if he goes down they've really only got Tragardh as their other big. I think they'll be a playoff contender but probably not a title contender.

36ers still have a long way to go really with only Ballinger, Johnson, Creek, Weigh and Ng under contract. Of their next five signings two of those will have to be pretty big to be any sort of playoff contender.

Interesting signing that perhaps to help entice Schenscher over? Pretty much spells the end of Aaron Bruce though.

Schenscher is over-rated. For somebody so big he does not dominate.

I like the sound of that one. He will certainly add something to the roster but agreed, Gozu, reckon that's goodbye, Bruce (Aaron, not tiki).

Starting to assemble a reasonable roster now.

He's never been a guy that is going to out and out dominate but he had a very good season with the 36ers in 08-09 averaging 17ppg & 11rpg coincidentally the last time we made the playoffs. From memory he outplayed Chris Anstey in all four meetings against him that season when Anstey was still pretty much the best player in the league.

Struggled a bit with Perth in 09-10 but was an 11th hour signing just a couple of weeks before the season started and still managed to help them win the championship and this past season with Townsville averaged 14ppg & 7rpg (40 min games), got them to within a game of the GF series and won their team MVP award.

Nathan Herbert has re-signed with the 36ers.

But in some unfortunate news the NBL have launched an investigation into possible salary cap breaches of the four teams from this season's playoffs.

A bit of speculation around the NZ Breakers and third party player payments.

The Townsville Crocs clearly not satisfied with just re-signing Big Luke are now making a play at Shaq hoping to lure him to Australia!
