Melbourne Cup always falls on a Tuesday!
Though a good excuse to hit the turps... You gotta work the day before
& the day after!
Besides, it's only a public holiday in Melbourne!
Rural Victoria don't get that luxury!

I agree that it should be Melbourne Cup Day, truly the day a race does stop the nation unlike the Adelaide Cup or Clipsal.

I'll vote for that one! The only problem is that I am a consultant, running my own business, and if I don't work nobody pays me...

Why not move Clipsal to this weekend, and run it from Friday to Monday?

It also makes more sense to have the holiday on the same day that Victoria and Tasmania also have a holiday (today), so I vote to keep it like it is now.

I hate the Clipsal.....boring two horse race. I'm not into horse racing either, but at least it doesn't just take a flip of a coin to decide the winner

State Gov should look at it financialy.
Public holiday for Adelaide Cup, how many people actually use that day to go to the Adelaide Cup???
Have the Clipsal friday instead, possibly 10,000-20,000 extra people would go on top of the 67,000, they would stand to add a few million to the 30 million the Clipsal 500 already generates for SA.
