Carlton are training at Richmond on Saturday, so they may chop it up too....

Yeah but the AFL isnt worried about Westies and Willy playing on a chopped up surface their only worried about Carlton Port playing on a crappy surface.

So if there is alot of rain this game will definatly be played at Richmond.

Definitely at AAMI Stadium now. Far too late to changw now.

Are you sure, i reckon the AFL would be keener to move the game absolute last minute than have Carlton Port play on a chopped up AAMI stadium.

It will be at AAMI now as bloods08 says, it would take too long to set all the camera gear up at the last minute, and then all the gear can be left at AAMI for the Power game the next day.

Williamstown all set for Quarter Final clash

All is in readiness for Williamstown's Foxtel Cup Quarter Final clash with West Adelaide. The Seagulls will fly out of Melbourne tomorrow in preparation for the game to be played at AAMI Stadium. It is the second time the Seagulls have been made to travel in the inaugural competition after defeating Swan Districts in Perth in Round 1 of the competition.

The game will be played as a stand alone fixture at AAMI, starting at 4:45pm Adelaide time. Supporters wanting to catch the action on Fox Sports can tune in at 5:30pm AEST on Channel 501.

Williamstown Football Manager Chris Dixon said it was business as usual for the Seagulls as they prepare for the clash with the Bloods. "We're really looking forward to testing ourselves against another quality side from another strong state league. West Adelaide have obviously shown a lot of improvement this year and have really taken the competition by storm over the first part of the season. There's no shortage of quality within their squad and we are obviously pretty familiar with a few of the Ex-VFL players such as the Caruso brothers, Ben Macreadie and Jarrod Silvester. "

Dixon said the game was another fantastic opportunity to promote the Williamstown Football Club. "It's a great chance for exposure. Exposure for our players, our Club and our Major Sponsor Hocking Stuart. Right from when the competition was announced we were behind the concept and it's great to see the positive reaction the Foxtel Cup has received so far."

With a squad of 25 players travelling over to Adelaide, Dixon stated that the final make up of the 22 won't be known until Friday evening. "With our final training run on the Friday we'll see who gets through the session ok and then make a final decision then."

A Semi-Final clash against East Perth awaits the winner of this match after they defeated the NT Thunder by a goal last Saturday.

Wow - that is a hell of a team the Towns are bringing over. Many would have a lot more experience playing at Footy Park than the whole West team would! Rain might be good for Westies, me thinks! All the best to the Bloods though!

Far from our strongest side - I dont know if Williamstown are resting as many players as we are?

Is Caruso of Williamstown a relation to the WAFC boys?

Outs - Green, Hill, Fielke, Moran, Birss, Willits, Silvester, Schmidt,
Ins - Anderson, Davenport, Lobbe, S. Ezard, Borholm, Agars, Kirk, Gallard, Blesing.

Is it just my crappy version or is there no coverage of this game in the Advertiser?
I have more interest in this interstate clash than any other game in SA this weekend.

Williamstown have 17 AFL players in that side. We don't have our best 4 big men - Ferguson, Fisher, Silvester, Willits. It could get ugly.

Caruso is a pretty common Italian name so wouldnt be surprised if theres no relation.

Not exactly an even playing field when you have clubs in a State Legue Comp which have much greater access to AFL players because they are controlled by an AFL Club and have a greater pool to use in the local comps!
