ROCS are a fair way ahead of the pack imo. they would need to have an off day for PD too win. footy is a funny game though.

hate to bash umps but had a shocker on the w/e iggies bloke running down the wing, goes to kick and our bloke tackles him and the ball comes free. ump calls play on they pick up the ball and kick a goal. asked the umpy why it wasnt holding the ball. and he said "if you drop the ball when you get tackled in that situation its play on"............................. really!!
they could at least know the most basic of rules! the bloke shouldnt be allowed to ump kids let alone div2![/quote]

Not sure the umps would account for the 14 goal difference Teaoby...

Having said that, it seemed to be one of those days where everything went right for Igs. They will be hard to beat on their small deck this year with plenty of strong bodies around the ball. From my perspective, PAOC seemed to want to get at Igs physically and it backfired.

I'm no coach (and we are all experts in hindsight) but I would have thought that PAOC would have been more suited to trying to open the game up rather than take on the bigger bodies at Igs at their own game.

No much room to do that out on Hunter Park though...

never said it cost us the game. we were woeful end of story.
and iim pretty sure most of the skirmishes iggies started and we got sucked into it, which as you say worked for them. i actually agree with you on the style of game though.

i have 0 issue with any of the iggies lads and their games styles EXCEPT white. the bloke is a sniper.

Got pinged by both umpires too!

I'm no coach either, but I saw it differently from where I stood.
As I saw it, PAOC put extra numbers behind the ball trying to create some run off the half back line.

This left Abba all alone across half back and he just killed the reds. At center bounces he was the only one on the back of the square and the iggies boys just fed the ball back to him as they pleased. When the game was in general play he just sat in the hole nicely and cut off any supply to JR, who in the end moved up into the midfield to try and find some ball.
Late in the 2nd term PAOC changed it up and went man on man but it was too late and the game was well and truly over by then.

Plenty of fumbling in the packs and poor delivery under pressure really hurt the Reds who have now dropped 3 in a row.

As winter starts to set in, we will get more and more of the heavy boggy games, could be a long cold winter for the Reds.

Not really Cash, side has had just as money outs as it has in's in the past few weeks. self belief is a huge factor and the there is a good feeling back at the club. . All the things Jolly worked on over the preseason are starting to show on the field, credit to him and the lads.

Districts were up for most of the game, ROCS kicked the last 3 goals to get them over the line. Great game to watch, except for the face that the umpires ruined the match. Sorry to be so blunt, but I have never seen so many ridiculous free kicks in a single game of footy.

Of course we did. Both sides did. But the men in orange ruined what could have been an epic contest.

pretty good game up at athelstone yesterday, WRECKED! by one umpire who decided to over officiate and over rule the younger umpire who imo was doing a pretty good job. any and almost every 50/50 contest he pulled a free kick out of his ar$e and didnt let a good game of footy flow.

athelstone kicked very poorly and ultimatly it probably cost them the game. PAC were pretty flat in the first half but kicked into gear in the 3rd quater and ran away with it. athelstone seemed to have a couple of blokes running around in the 2's that were much better then lads in the 1's also?
