Yeah unfortunately unavailable this week due to work. We had always planned to have a meeting early in the season to iron out any kinks that would eventuate due to the player/coach role being new to everyone involved. What better time than after our performance Saturday.

Would have had another crisis meeting tonight or maybe sometime this week after the weekends performance i'm guessing

Which one, personally Jordan for me.

Is it true that West kicked a goal after the siren to win yesterday?

Funny you bring that up because Jordy Warren nailed the match winning goal after the siren. Hayden goes alright when he is not hung over as he was on the weekend also the younger brother is a up and coming ruckmen in the A grade too

Take it easy boys, this is the table
Team P W L D For Against Pts %
1 Port 5 4 1 0 387 255 8 60.28%
2 Central 5 4 1 0 454 359 8 55.84%
3 West 5 2 3 0 371 409 4 47.56%
4 Sollies 5 2 3 0 342 382 4 47.24%
5 South 5 2 3 0 329 415 4 44.22%
6 Lions 5 1 4 0 288 351 2 45.07%

Talks about crisis meetings and coaches getting sacked is a bit rich at this point. It seems like a good even comp but here are my FOOTY observations.
# Port seemed to travelling ok but other sides will know more about them next time around
# Centrals lost on the weekend but will be stronger when they get their full team on the park
# West only team to beat Port and if Jordan didnt kick straight would be 6th
# Sollies have hit great form beating two sides away
# South have fallen away last two weeks but were run away minor premiers last year and will be back- sure the mix of player/coach is tough but am sure this will iron out as the season goes along
# Lions would be 4th if that kick missed and would be a silly chance to win their next two v South at home and then sollies who they beat by 9 goals last time.

Lions won't pull the trigger on Duck & neither should they, he is rated by the hierarchy enough to be SGL coach. Similarly Struck will be fine as two weeks is a long time in footy. Both these guys were appointed for reasons their clubs saw fit at the time, this couldnt have changed after one round!

ST you went early and posted after two rounds "dont think any of the pt augusta sides will have to worry about Lions,Ports or sollies this year again as all 3 look pretty ordinary!! "- care to stick by that or would this now need an update?

Now I know that all cant make the finals but looking forward to the rest of the year- should be interesting.
Anyone else care to post an opinion as to how the sides are going now after all teams have played one another!

Great finish Sunday, super kick given the pressure!!

Ports played very well together and have an even spread of talent, IMO the best team we've played,
Centrals have a few players that are hard to match up on and are a close 2nd,
Sollies the form team at the moment and playing with new found confidence,
South trying to get a settled team on the park and play 4 quarters of footy,
West can seize momentum but switch off,
And Lions, saw them in round 1, it wasn't a great game but we just came away with a win and they seem to have struggled since. Wooden spoon is theirs ATM.

Well looking at J.Neary's name pop up a few times over the past few weeks as BOG from ports, wouldnt be surprised if some1 from sollies doesnt pull there head in this week with a tagging role and see if he can play "old style footy" he looks like hed drop easy from a big enough hit. , hes sidekick underwood's not doing much harm when he cant mark the big ones. "white men cant jump" when will he learn, anyway keen to watch on this weekend go u pussy cats! tipping cats by 33

Hatrick are you talkin about Veary>>? ive been a pirie local (no prefered team) for a while now andthough i didnt make it to the ports game on weekend i dont think the kid is any threat to the cats after watching their midfield on sunday. Underwood doesnt mind costing his team plenty of frees with his unrealistic attempts to take hangers, i wouldnt be surprised if ganley gives him a run in the 2's for some discipline.

Looks ok, quite skilled and clean. Similar to Blair Fitzgerald from Solly, looking forward to seeing him go around again, seems clever and good around goals. Bleasby is another new recruit that came with Price I believe- any word on him?

still cant believe centrals lost today... 10 goals to 2 up at half time and lost on the last kick of the day.... threw away 2 points. very disapointing...
