We've been telling all you non-believers for months that this was the answer, but you blindly refused to accept it.

The original proposal was predicted to conservatively add $1.9M to the PAFC bottom line. Here's a $1.8M injection without even considering Gordon Pickard.

Read it for yourselves http://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/n ... fault.aspx and in case you miss it http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8183614

With more good news to emanate from Alberton, I'm certain you'll all be lining up to offer a hearty congratulations.

Where's the line ?

I don't think that's right. He predicted a lot of diabolical scenarios yet some of us tried to tell him that the AFL would come to the party financially if it ever got to the point that the SANFL had reached it's limit. We said the AFL wouldn't let the PAFC and ultimately the SANFL fall over because of PAFC's cashflow problems. And that's what appears to have has happened.

At this stage, depending on exactly what the AFL are contributing and what conditions they put on, the SANFL clubs are not immediately directly impacted. They may be in the future but it's too early to call don't you reckon?

He also said the AO redevelopment was no chance to happen.

It does look much closer than what it appeared 12 months ago, yet already the opposition are raising questions about the viability of the Port Adelaide AFL side and questioning if its a good use of state funds if the club falls over or relocates. The issues with Car Parking are yet to be resolved. Perhaps I will believe it when I see the actual works beginning!

Well, while taking the opportunity to score political points the opposition are conveniently being very quiet about their own proposal to build a brand new stadium at twice the cost all while renovating the existing RAH. As recent as 2 months ago they were still talking about how they intended to do that.

Hondo was RC's diabolical scenario that the sanfl were at their limit and that Port was to much of a drain on the league? You denied this from memory.

HE also quoted that sanfl clubs and CEO's were complaining about how Ports financial situation was effecting the clubs already. You denied that from memory aswell.

You even suggested that a SANFL CEO with over 30 years of experience was over reacting and causing unnecessary panic through the clubs members. Do you still think that now?

You said that the day the SANFL runs out of money and can no longer support Port. Was an Armageddon scenario. Did you see the press conference yesterday ?

C'mon even Booney was man enough to admit RC was right. Surely you can aswell?

No, I didn't deny that. I said that, if that were the case, the AFL would come to the party.

No, I didn't deny that the CEO said that. It was in black and white wasn't it? Again, I said it didn't mean the end of the SANFL because ultimately the AFL are making good money out of their competition.

Is any SANFL club directly affected at this stage?

Again, if the AFL are covering off the shortfall where is the armageddon for the SANFL? I had no argument with him that PAFC were in serious strife. He said it would be the end of the SANFL. Is it?

@ Riddler

I'd add, as I tried to say to RC, that in spite of the problems created by the PAFC issues, most of the SANFL have independently improved their business models so they are now mostly recording profits. So there were and are some positives happening.

I have never, and still don't, argued with anyone that Port aren't in serious strife. That's Captain Obvious. The debate in my mind was what would the ultimate outcome of that strife be.

That was my take on our debate anyway. I appreciate others looked at what I was saying to RC in a different way. You can take my views however you want. I don't really want to re-open the debate again! What are we debating anyway? That Port are in strife and it's tough times for footy in this state. I think we agree. I think the AFL have been slow in coming to the party TBH.
