Ken McGregor at CHF in the SANFL team and then CHB in the AFL team - indicative of his versatility I reckon.

Some pretty impressive names in both teams, and good to see Jamie Tape (RIP) make the both as well.

Plenty of good players missed out: Andrew Taylor, Robert Pyman, Sam Phillipou, the Kluzek brothers, Chapman, Peter Fiacchi to name a few.

No room for Jason Earl?

Not sure I would have had McGregor as CHF. He has been useful but never really dominated. I would have put Phillipou ahead of him or brought Grocke to CHF and named Taylor in the pocket.

Was the criteria they had to play 50 games for the club? Not sure whether Pyman would have played 50 games but that may explain why he didn't get a spot. Same with Bulluss.

J Sziller played one exceptional year and the rest was pretty average. Very luck IMO

I think M Kluzek was the most unluckly player not to get selected.

Others who are unlucky include Geyer, Nichol and Pesch

Premiership CHF. More of a surprise if he wasn't included.

No, I think Grocke is a better player than all of those. Thoroughly deserves to be named in the side.

If that was the only criteria then there would only be players from 2 Eagles sides wouldnt there

Actually, I think McGregor is the only non-premiership player in the side.

That's just 1 reason. I'm no Grocke fan, but he has been a great player for the Eagles.

Fair enough,

I guess from my perspective being a 27 year old the early-mid 90's were my 'glory' years at the football as a kid and the Kluzeks and Phillipou were stars of the game so i probably tend to over rate the football back then.

And to think Jarman told Grocke he wasn't good enough for league footy!

Well deserved Adam! :D

Agree Pyman and perhaps M Kluzek were probably a bit stiff.
Spehr is another I reckon is a bit stiff. Very good full back whose career is remembered in the shadow of one quarter.
Pedler maybe, good player, pretty important to team/club spirit.
Others such as Brad Williams and Ryan Potter would have been monty's for this side if not for injuries.

Don't think Grocke had much of an influence in the 2006 season, but certainly from about mid-07 he has been well deserving.

What is your reason for that? Ron got us a premiership and many finals series. Gods has only been coach of the Eagles for one year for a prelim final.

Been a very competitive club since inception
20 years on, hopefully the amalgamation jokes are now finished
This is now a great club, and have been rewarded with 2 flags

I ponder
Would Woodville have won a premiership by now ?

CD + WDV joined the comp in 1964
Look at what CD have done in the 2000's
It was unimaginable 20 years ago that CD could be a super team, but wow look at em now
