Kenilworth are obviously a very good side, but it's difficult to be remotely competitive when you have over a dozen first choice players watching from the sidelines

They were up there with Heccies WOS etc lost to Hope Valley in a prelim by two points without thier key tall who was injured and had kicked 80 goals. There were juniors at the time 13s 15 17s. If i recall one of them played in a gf. Since 08 seems to be a gradual slide with players leaving or not playing at all. Harvey,Apostolopolous,Crichton,Bentley to name a few . I would say at end 08 they had a very very strong list capable of playing in another gf,this list wasnt bought, people worked extremely hard to set the club up for long term success ,and as it is now could see them back in Div 7...

Well that parts incorrect. For one CLG didnt lose to HV in the prelim, we knocked them off in the semi by about 2 goals. WOS beat them in the prelim by about 5 goals in the end. Are you eluding to harvey as their key tall in the prelim? If so then he played that day also (just my 2 cents worth  )

It has been quite a shock to see the turnover in list at CLG. Harvey was a huge loss (although wasnt quite the clubman my sources tell me) and never rated the crichton boys tbh. Visser was a huge loss this season and im not well informed enough to know about the rest of the squad, but must say i tipped them to be finalists this year and their results are surprising.

My friend harvey did not play "trust me " he didnt ..nor did he play 2cnd semi both games were at clg...one crichton won a mail medal must be able to play a bit i would think...the others seem to have drifted away, and let me tell you clg team of 07 08 was as good as any team including WOS HV or whoever.

Well not sure what drugs i was on because i was at both games (even played on harvey for a mere 2-3 minutes in that 2nd semi) and prelim was a spectator having a look at who we would be playing the following week and harvey was definately in both games (we made sure we gave it too him in the 2nd semi as he sat there serving us rubbish p*ssed as a maggot in the q final out at WOS. Not talking stats about the crichtons, in fairness they may have been blanketed the games we played them but as i said they weren't impressive in my eyes.

Just having my 2 cents mate, not having a crack at you.

Didnt Harvey have an unfortunate incident with a champagne glass?

Certainly was not a good day for CU B grade after 2 good wins in a row...had our chances to win the game but skill errors and discipline let us down....A red card was given to the CU lad for the incident you are referring to which made it even harder with only 17 on the oval.
The incident occured when a scuffle broke out, not when he was running for the ball (not that this excuses it). How is the Henley lad....hope he is O.K.

A couple will be back from holiday this week. I'm hoping to be back this week. But most will be aiming to return after the bye I reckon.

I can understand that, he would hurt teams in div4 so he should really carve things up in Div 6

Yea he isnt to bad, worked today no problems.
Was a bit sore sat night according to my misses family but all is well.
And do take back that it did happen in the scuffle not when he was going for the ball.

interesting tip by the writer in talking amatuers - henley over bos by 13-24.
we'll only have a handful of players that played on the open expanses of henley in our first season in 2006.
i'd expect our runners will enjoy the space.

Gutsy win by the Raiders yesterday - a great turnaround from last week. Must have been about 20-25 stoppages in our forward line in the first half of the last quarter as both teams lunged and scrapped for the footy. It chewed up a lot of time and allowed us to hang on for the two points.

Very disappointing game for TOS. Could not use our long injury list as an excuse on the weekend and I know Houghton have quite a few missing too. Houghton were really hungry all day and just wanted it more. Simple as that. When you only get 25-30 inside 50's for the match on a very short Houghton Oval you don't deserve the win. We were lucky that we kicked straight and that Houghton missed a few otherwise it could've looked a lot uglier scoreline. What made it more disappointing was that the week before a lot of our younger guys stepped up in the absence of some of our more senior players but too many went missing this week. Would love Liam Davis in our team. He would have to be one of the most talented kids I've seen. His contested marking is bloody amazing. Could obviously play a lot higher - surprised he's not at an SANFL club (Any reason Q?)

As for the B's. Looking forward to taking on Kenilworth next week. Both teams undefeated. It will great for our lads to take on the best and see where we're at. Another 3 outs from the weekend's squads and the unlikelihood of anyone coming back is really going to test our depth though.

Rexy's ties with Norwood and their subsequent interest means the opportunity exists. However, Liam is also a talented basketballer and has a short window to break into the American scene and I believe the young lad is very keen to focus on that endeavour for the time being.
