State Of Origin

Whilst I acknowledge that its unlikely ever to be brought back I always find it interesting in what people think the teams would look like based on this season.
so if you would like show me your best SA,VIC,NSW,QLD,TAS,WA sides and lets discuss :)

SA would struggle at the minute id rekon, no-one from Port would make the side. Who's in form in the SANFL?

Gee not sure about Allan, he wouldnt get a kick at AFL standard.
Not a bad side but shows how poor SA footy has become because we would get flogged by the vics and WA would beat us aswell

James Allan isn't South Australian so not eligible but I can't think of much better at the moment. May have a go later.

Dal Santo ahead of Watson and Mundy on the field? Not a bad side though mate.
Reckon a genuine CHB is needed and the side looks bloody good

Of course he would. Matt Wright is running around for the Crows and doing well. AFL is a possession game these days, so why wouldn't the leading possie getter in the SANFL get a kick? If Jobe Watson can get a kick, a blind monkey could.

Obviously not, last time I looked watson was captain of an AFL side and wright is having a crack at the TOP level while poor jimmy is running around in the SANFL. The guy is a gun at SANFL but there must be a reason why he isnt playing AFL.

all good stuff from you posters. In Major League Baseball in USA they have this All Star game between the two leagues and the teams are chosen by fans ballotting their choices online and even in snail mail and those players with the votes get the guernseys. The media and the know-all celebrity selectors get zero input so it becomes a game between the most popular players. Interesting concept - and I still couldn't see any Port players making the cut if we did it here tch tch tch
