Anyone going to go and watch River Murray take on Southern on the June long weekend? Has the squad been picked yet?

Its usually put on the RMFL site when its picked, hasn't been put on there yet.

RE today's results, it looks as though Tailem got a bit of a reality check today. Imps' big blokes obviously too much to handle in the forward line. With the comp evening up, Ramblers having some key injuries and Imps finding some form, the Blues may even be favourites now for the flag.

Yes Ramblers do have some injury worries and are definitely looking forward to having a 2 week break.

Jackson was getting around on crutches after the game and Girardi may have rib damage but i'm not sure how serious they are.

Next week we will gladly welcome back a couple sturt players to fill the holes left buy these guys and Button, Kay and Marchetti but the depth is definitely going to be tested over the next month or so

Tailem have now got 20 points worth of players (15 allocation) & will have to rotate players through the ressies, or play 5 under age players. Dangerous way to go about it, not just for the side, but especially the kids involved. 2-3 kids in any 1 team is by far enough IMO.

UMPIRES WANTED!!!!!
-No experiance nesessary (as you can learn from the others).
-Must be slow (at least 50 metres behind play).
-Being blind is an advantage but not important as you can always look the other way.
-You do NOT need a whistle (they are very rarely used in RMFL) unless you want to be noticed by giving stupid free kicks.
-Being bias is paramount so pick a team to support and umpire that game.

I think the umpires train Wednesday night at Ramblers Straighttalker. Why dont you wander down there and introduce yourself to Mick Nottle. It is never easy finding new umpires but you seem to have all the credentials to go straight into an A grade game this week. My guess would be that you have never umpired a senior game otherwise you would not make such silly statements.

4th and 5th positions wide open.

Those pending clearances are all juniors I think.

I also noticed Karpany playing Reserves on Saturday, presumably thats how they dealt with their points issue.

Yep, and I know Michael Fiegert was asked to play ressies 2 weeks back and he told them to shove it. Wouldnt be surprised if he comes back to Ramblers so atleast if he's playing b's it will be with his mates

Maybe they are recruiting the better juniors from other places, to get under the points allocation & be able to play all of the recruits, as I find it hard to believe that there would be 5 in their current U/17's side who should/deserve an A grade spot

I believe Michael Fiegert is out for a big part of the season due to injury.

Fiegert is in Tailems best 21, and has spent most of the pre-season and regular season dealing with injury. Ramblers, his mates, I'm pretty sure they gave him heaps when he played against them, great mates there! And he wouldn't tell anyone to shove it, he's got a lot more class than that BB. Get it right. The reason Fiegert ended up at Tailem Bend is because he was a fringe player at Ramblers looking for an opportunity to play A grade and Tailem Bend rated how he goes about it, if you see anything wrong with that please let me know.

Also, everyone seems to be an expert on what goes on at Tailem Bend all of a sudden. So called experts on this forum need to realise how a competitive Tailem Bend is the best thing for this competition, rather than bagging them for their management of the points scenario. I would think its more of an issue to look at the points system and realise that clubs like Tailem Bend have started a significant way back behind every club at the beginning of the 2011 RMFL Pre-Season, due to previous recruiting and inability to retain them, and therefore would benefit from some 'room to move' with their points, rather than having to exceed the allocation and look to juniors.

Yeah lets just give every club that screws up extra points, that will fix the problem    are you serious?????????

We all know Tailems recruiting has been poor at best for probably 5 years now. This year they have recruited outstandingly well, but sometimes these things should be a 3 year plan. The points system is not perfect, but is clearly working statewide, as the results show (excluding Hills Country). If 15 is all u get then 15 should be all you recruit. Get rid of the -1 for kids I say! It promotes mis-management of their development, not the other way around as its been advertised to do. If a kid is good enough to make your 21, he plays! Not because he has to, to allow recruited players to play. Look at Dylan Hogarth, or Ben Hanson, or Ben Dougall, or even back as far as Marty Mattiner. All made their clubs best 21 without being thrust into it because of over inflated ego's, who want a quick fix & perhaps look good to show they can turn a club around in 1 year

Yes, I am serious. Its called negotiating, as some clubs actually inherit issues from previous regimes, both at a coaching and committee level. And requesting between 1-3 extra points for a club with significant issues, for instance going through an entire season without winning a game could be considered a significant issue, is not an unreasonable request I wouldnt think.
