Mourinho has tried to play offensive football all season, he has achieved it most weeks but he was trying to avoid another 5-0 humiliation against Barca. Real beat Valencia 6-3 before the second leg so he has shown he can play attacking football. Barcelona is just on a completely different level to anyone in the world and he tried to use his Inter tactics from last year. he had more chance beating Barca that way then trying to take it up to them as shown in the 5-0 thumping he recieved earlier in the season trying to attack Barca.

Barca should account for United easily in the final, I cant see their midfield getting anywhere near the two maestro's in Xavi and Iniesta. then Messi, Villa and Pedro will have Ferdinand and Vidic chasing shadows just like the 09 final. United will have chances to score but if Messi and Co are on song there is no hope for United.

We will beat them this time. We dont have a sulking Ronaldo just moping around the pitch like last time.
2-0 United, perfect send off for VDS and scholesy

Don't agree Tos lad
Arsenal had the beating of Barca until they went down to 10 in the 2nd leg

Barca rely on space and time on the ball. Put pressure on and close them down quickly and they aren't so hot. The biggest obstacle United face is keeping 11 on the pitch. Barca have the greatest actors the world of football has ever seen.
United will pressure them and Rooney will chase everything, unfortunately he is hot headed and Fergie will have to keep him calm.

United playing at home will turn Barca over imho. Unlike too many other sides, they won't show Barca too much respect

If anyone can work out how to stop them without sacrificing too much of the ball it would have to be fergie, he would have learnt from last time also. I still think Barca will beat them due to the undeniable quality of their players, playacting aside which i put largely down to the huge pressure of the classico's, Messi Xavi Villa and the rest completely outclass most United players. The way i see United winning though will be through Nani, Valencia breaking away and playing in Rooney or Chicharito (best signing by any team all season). It will be the usual story of Barca dominating most of the possesion and creating chances but it will come down to United's ability to finish the few chances they get.

thats how i see the game panning out but i could be 100% wrong, thats the beauty of football.
Either way it will be great game and i cant wait

In terms of tactical nous Sir Alex Ferguson isn't really in the top echelon of managers. His strength lies more in his ability to motivate the team and play mind games with the opposition.
The only thing Fergie would have learnt from the 2009 final was that Barcelona was far superior in every facet of the game and there was nothing he could do about it. And that was when Cristiano Ronaldo was still playing for United!

The same Ronaldo who sooked all game like a baby and was probably the worst player on the field that day. Good riddance to him, hope he is enjoying his silverware this season :D
We will beat Barca in final, they are not undefeatable and there was patches in their semi where they looked ordinary. Great side but dont write us off

Well that's probably because they had by far the tougher semi-final. You blokes got the juicy one against Schalke 04 who were one of the worst semi finalists in history. It was a guaranteed ticket to the final. The Inter side they beat in the quarters was a shadow of the one that lifted the Cup last year.

I dont deny its going to be tough but if you listen to all the media we might as well not turn up. Dont discount the passionate home crowd advantage, i think we can edge them and i hope its a cracker match. Cant wait

Pretty fair call. If you can beat Barcelona it will be a massive achievement and you would definitely deserve the title Champions of Europe.
Good luck!

Barca are already here. Came early to avoid the ash.

Incidentally United won their 1st European Cup in 1968 at Wembley. Barca won their 1st European Cup in 1998 at Wembley

Both sides have won it 3 times

How kind of Arsenal to let Barca use their training facilities for the week...... they'd do anything to help a team playing United lol :D

Due to it being the final there wont be much of a difference between United and Barca supporters in regards to numbers, as UEFA issue so many tickets to all the corporates. There will obviously be more english supporters there but it wont be like a semi where its 95% home fans.

Interesting that the game is Saturday night as i remember most finals being played on the customery tue or wed night.

Arsenal are a disgrace for allowing Barca to train at their ground. Thought you guys would be helping out your fellow English side.

I dont want them helping us.
I went to the final in paris between arsenal and barca and there was no way i was going to support arsenal.
If united get knocked out i will cheer any side playing against the english sides, if we cant win it i dont want them winning it
