The Fantasy Footy Bonanza

Postby OnSong » Mon May 23, 2011 10:42 am

This weekend was one of those rare rounds when huge scores were as common as a Tiger Woods infidelity claim.
Premiums loaded up and more importantly, fringe players also scored above average, to the rapturous joy of thousands of coaches.
It was a weekend so good, some may have thought the world had ended and we were all in heaven.
Many recorded their best ever scores, it was simply a phenomenal week.

Then there was me.

I was extremely happy with the progress of my team, I had a solid average, traded well and had a pretty handy squad on the park.
By Saturday night, I could barely contain my glee to see Tapscott scored 20 and Lower smashed Duigan's score out of the water.
Sunday was going to be a great day.

Wrong.

Enter Dane Swan (C), Heath Shaw, Shaun Higgins and Callan Ward.
All scored between 40 and 80 points below their average.
Blokes with spuddy rookies like Conca and Krakouer on the field (I had them both on the pine) shredded me.
A score of 2205 and a round ranking of 72,800 sent me over 4000 places down in the overall stakes.
I seriously feel like the kid who rocked up to school in uniform on casual day.
I know, I know, don't pick Higgins etc etc, but hell, even if he managed 60 or 70 I would have been happy.
F**k you Supercoach gods.

Anyone else have a crap week in the round of the Fantasy Footy Bonanza?
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

2242 with Lower on the bench and Tapscott and Grundy spudding out and Swan as Capt.
As coach I could have improved the score not unhappy with the players effort though. Lost in the Lobster to CK and one other league.

Tapscott killed me with his injury 20 points.
H. Shaw only 67
Bartel only 61
Dal Santo 78

All well under there averages, and then there was...............
Didak the sub with only 33  if I had not lost so much money on him already I would consider trading him out

I got done when I got my PB as well. That week I played my bogey side Hawkeye and my 2485 resulted in four points loss! ACK!

Scored 2337 with Lower (119), Duigan (97), Hibberd (80), Conca (99) on the pine. I fear I've peaked too early :?
