My point is you dont deserve to finish top 4 if you cant beat sides that wont make the 8. Big chance for us to put us safe in top 4 and we flopped. Very poor effort

Pretty good for a guy whose one port got beat by a combined margin of over 150pts. Reckon you would gladly trade places

Richmond will make the 8, so no shame in losing to them. It's quite an even competition (in the middle ranks) and losing 1 or 2 key players will be the difference between where you could finish and where you will finish at the end of the year.

Me and my mates have been talking about it, and at the start of the year, "our" top 4 came from Geelong, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Sydney, Carlton, St Kilda, Hawthorn (subject to improvement, injuries, form etc, etc). Some of those teams have dropped away, so that's opened up the top 4.

At the moment, I see more teams trying to make the bottom 9 than the top 8.
