Owen, I think you need to get out to Cambrai and talk to those guys I do not think they have plans for Friday night and Sunday comps. They think about their community (netball as an example?) :?

Owen will do what Owen wants to do and that's rarely in the interests of local footy. S/C seem to be well on track re their community. Maybe they could put up with C's for a year, allow juniors to rebuild, keep the support they obviously have and make their move in 2013?
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Had to comment on Sedan's progress while this debate continues. The club is making great strides and continues to work to a five year plan. A year in C grade would condemn the plan. Current recruits would leave and we would have no chance of attracting quality players to play C's. We would also lose 25 current B Grade players. Would have no chance then of fielding competitive teams in 2012. Judge the club by it's progress in 2012/13. The club will certainly be in a better position to reassess itself then.

Whos is the best team atm and why?
And who has surprised you?

I'd say Uraidla because they just continue to get the job done!
And Lofty have surprised me, their energy and willingness to work for each other will see them in for a late September!

You're way off the mark with the call that Owen L doesn't have local footy interest in mind, he's works his butt off for the league - no one can deny that - the problem is he tries to do it all himself, his board is there in name only, whenever any jobs are to be done I suspect Owen would rather do it himself then trust it to many on his board.

Unfortunately he's been getting some (or maybe most) of his calls wrong lately - it seems he tries to please everyone at the same time, which is pretty much impossible, as administrators of a league the size of the HFL you sometimes will need to make black or white decisions, which by definition will upset some of the member clubs.

not sure this is big news. most clubs i've been involved with have had to do the b grade ringaround at some stage during the year. doesn't take much in the way of injuries or work commitments to have an impact.

I hope they get a team up, if the Hills Super Rules have players maybe they could supply the B Grade team for the Raiders.

So what are TV doing this year, two star forwards, but how have teams worked around these players.
I note J. Hill is in this week from Darwin to add to the forward bonanza.
Unfortunately, I will miss the IB v TV match tomorrow as I will be at Callington, but surely they are missing an engine room to feed all these forwards? :?
Any comments on their game plan this year?

Kick to big men, kick goal from 60 metres.
All other grades get flogged.

i think ironbank will beat torrens valley, and lobethal have racked up a few injuries over the last couple of weeks which will test their depth so leaning towards a draw as I've got no idea how Onkas are traveling either.

From Lobethal,

U13 Lobethal
U15 Draw
U17 Lobethal
A2. Onkas
A. Lobethal by 17 points ( in front all day apparently)

Melee at 3/4 times was exciting, the big man Shea helmet flying through the air.

Wasn't at the game but heard for the second week in a row Blackwood won all grades except the one that counts.
Uraidla by 19 points I'm told.

Great playing group with the worst thing for them a footy committee that rivals the worst in any sport worldwide. I feel very sorry for great HFL players Shee, Smith, Klunn, Kirwin and the Tanner boys who will never taste the ultimate success due to the complete and utter incompetance of the above mentioned clowns.
The only bloke that does anything with any professionalism in that whole club is Chris Tannner who was truly an excellent President who understands the game, unlike the clowns previously mentioned one thinks it is still 1972 and is generally too blind drunk to watch the game properly and the other is better placed at a womens basketball admin desk.
Keep up the good work boys the proof will continue with under achievement.
A tradgedy really as the club itself could be truly great if run by a committee with an ounce of professionalism and footy knowledge.

Sorry but sounds like sour grapes to me Dave Evans.
I watched the game yesterday and the Onkas boys are playing some good footy just lacking a couple more quality players.

Still travelling ok Running Forward as yesterdays result is about a 22 goal turnaround from last year, keep up the good work  Perhaps a dozen or so????
