leaving yourself wide open there LTSO.(unless your taking the mickey at div2 footy)

we all know it takes more than 18 players to form a CLUB.

Late reply here M80 i know, but i've actually been busy lately for a change...was definately taking the pi$$ with my earlier comment, purely and simply because this Johnny Cash bloke won't stop ranting about the quality of Div 2 football. You're definately right, it takes far more people than the blokes on the field to make up a footy side. The point i was getting at though is that i don't think you can particularly compare the two divisions in terms of preparation on and off the field. I've watched a number of Div 2 games and the standard, to be polite, was very average! The only reason they changed the name from Div 2 to Central was so people like JC here can talk it up....talk it up all you want buddy but no one in Div 1 is going to have a bar of it. I think the HFL should install a relegation system so people like JC can put there money where their mouth is. Yes there are some decent players running around in Div 2, but on the whole, the quality of football is sh!t!

Who cares what standards both Div's are equall to, its country footy after all. All everyone wants is a kick on a Sat then to get on the beers that night. I say, get over the Country v Central debate. There are plenty of decent players in both Divs, and plenty of scrubbers!! Atleast its good clean footy, with very few snipers

actually i think the problem is there a people on here wayyy to precious about their central div football, whenever anyone throws out comments for debate about the quality of country division football, instead of it met with decent retorts and argument it's met with people slamming their fingers on their keyboards and steaming out their ears. learn to take it with a bit of humor and fun and we can all get along... im not even sure what the comments are i've made that sooo stupid!?
people wouldn't be firing up if they had something worthwhile getting angry about in their lives instead of social football

I think it's more that you're so insecure about playing Div 2! You have some sort of inferiority problem with playing a lesser grade. Get over it by stepping up and having a crack ad Central footy. No doubt shanty would welcome you.

You're right - I don't have anything in my life worth getting angry about. Life's good. I'm a happy man.

You haven't thrown any topics out there for debate JC, you've said the top 3 Country div teams would contend for finals positions in Central, and i'm sorry but that is just ridiculous. And if it were not why would the top teams want to hang around in the Country div?

I'm in the dark and have no idea who you are, and that's what aliases are for.
But can you tell us how high you have played and how that compares to HFL? That'd be a good yardstick.

So did Uri's make a whole bunch but Lofty didn't buy them all off them? Is that the alleged problem?

Not sure of finer details, but apparantly there was a deal to buy 20 @$20 with the proviso that if more were needed they would be bought. Word (somehow) got back that they(Mt Lofty) had made extra copies and selling them to players. As negotiations were done thru your prez....
Guess this stuffs up any future deals with our (good quality) copies of B grade GF!

With all due respect to Coco, I don't think he'd know how to burn a DVD. And for $20 a pop I don't think he'd bother trying to rip you guys off. At most he's going to make about $400 out of it (20x$20) so wouldn't be worth the potential bad blood.

On the B grade GF - it's all up top for me! I can even remember my stats..............because I can count them all on 1 hand!!!!

Know you guys are cashed up so don't mind missing out on a bit of cash, we aren't all soo lucky.
As for your stats, no one cares! But wouldn't it be good to watch the game, has to be a few highlights worth seeing.

There are a few reasons why some of the top div 2 teams don't put their hand up to go to div 1.

Kangarilla, I believe, wanted to start in div 1 but the HFL told them to start in div 2 because they didn't have U17 and the HFL wanted to see how they would go in div 2 to start with. Once they get their junior club up and running, I think they could have a real crack at div 1. I also think they wouldn't have too much of a problem generating a higher cashflow through sponsorship being pretty close to the suburbs

TV just don't have the club depth and set-up, they are being held up by one man and their juniors are pretty ordinary.

Meadows is one team I'm not sure why they didn't go up a couple of years ago when the HFL asked them to. Their club seems quite soild and stable and they have excellent juniors coming through. Maybe they are worried about their cash flow or they just like being a bigger fish in a smaller pond. I tend to think it's the latter.

If Kersbrook can build their club around the James' boys and rebuild their junior teams (they're pretty ordinary at the moment) then they may be able to take the step up in say 5 years time.

Birdwood are taking a bold step up but they have a really solid club with some quality junior programs in place. They also have the High school to tap into and probably aren't too far away from the NE suburbs to generate enough sponsorship. Their seniors definately need improving but they have a very young list and if they can hold 80% of those kids and recruit well, they should be quite competetive in 3-5 years time.

It will be interesting to see if the HFL enfore the relegation/promotion now they have 10 teams in each div. I believe the premier gets the choice to come up to div 1 and if they want to, then the bottom side gets relegated. If they don't want to come up then they stay as they are.

The blokes that missed out on a GF spot would care about my stats (or lack thereof!)

And no, it wouldn't be great to watch the game - I'd have to put up with Nipple telling me how good he is after every posession he got.
