With the amount of rain we've had Harpers Field will be an absolute slop....it will be lucky if 9 goals are scored for the entire game!!! Our C's had a bit of a hiccup last week but am confident will bounce back this week a la Melbourne Demons style!!

you cant be posting this kind of stuff and then go out and get beaten by 13 or so goals... you're asking for trouble [/quote]

Hefty must have posted in the wrong thread, Im sure he was talking about the D grade ;)

Watched the C grade game and Mitcham were just too big and got away from our C grade early, I think we looked better in the second half, or the blokes that had played two games stared to tire for Mitcham??

well looks like smoking crack helped me pick that one. I think it's fair to say you aint on par with mitcham and will be struggling to play finals this year.

Should have, looks like you are doing a great job down there Satchel. Already won as many games as you had last year and not even half way through the season yet.

Cheers mate. It was a cracker game plus got a new recruit from it too (which is lovely ;) ). Now we look at Pembroke and really see where we are at as a side. Its also great to hear the boys sing the song again. We actually only won 2 games last year the other 2 were because of the Kilburn thing. The coach last year did just as good a job. We lost a few games by under 3-4 goals even to the extent of a kick. It just comes down to the lads on the park realy and their pre season.

But the Coach this year at Portland with Marbles is a real Cracker.

The Club should be paying him thousands for the Sensational job he is doing

Thank you Davo but a coach is only as good as the players that are on the park. I just dribble $hit before the game and they do the rest. Again i thank you fior the positive feedback (still doesnt change my mind about you ;) ;) )

Hey - I was only pulling the mickey out of you. No need to think I was being serious and actually thought you could coach. Dribble you do.............and plenty of it.

Yeah they did. Had only 9 players as previous posts explained. Be interesting to see how they make up the numbers this week. No one likes to play that card at the best of times. Its not good for moral or their club. Cant understand how that can happen when you come form Div 2 and your club has good numbers in the upper grades and then unable to field a side the next year. Having a laugh on the flip side, playing against Flinders isnt fun at any stage but that couldnt be the reason surely.

Yeah couldn't see many teams even coming close to fp. Smosh were good but when the liked of sudjai cook lineup for them and takes hangers and kicks goals playing halfback you know they are going to be a handy side

Looking at Pembroke's results they havent been real convincing just getting over the line to P/Hills and Pooraka and losing to seaton. You also got to play pooraka which should be a win, then you have Mitcham that could be the showdown to see who takes 3rd spot at the half way mark.

Pretty much what i was thinking, but cant say until the final siren on Saturday against Pembroke. Pooraka wont be as easy as some may think. I agree entirley about Mitcham. They and us are rather even at this point. We have not had such a great start but wont rest on it as it is. The game against Mitcham is in 2 weeks. As they say a week is a long time in footy let alone 2. Im really looking forward to the Mitcham clash. Just wish we could have it as a triple header. That would be fantastic with the rivalry the way it is (we won the flag ;) sorry hollywood had to throw it in) to have all three grades but when the other club has that D grade issue i guess there isnt a lot that can be done. Unless Mitcham would like to do it of course? It should be with the waty both clubs are going at the minuet. Get onto it Hollywood!

Think I will have to go and watch the Portland vs Mitcham game. Hopefully both teams are at full strength to guage where both teams are at. 2 weeks is a big time in footy especially in c grade footy. Like I said earlier 2-3 in your A's and B's will mean 4-6 in your C's. The triple headers are good thing when you only have 3 teams and a bad thing when you 4 teams. And also a bad thing when you only have 3 teams and your C's are playing home with no one else, It's hard to get people out to support becuase most the time they'll go and watch the A grade.

I dont think it matters mate. Regardless if you kick in his vacinity or not. He creates space and makes himself the option. He is there go to but is very smart as a player and takes that 20-30 yards back to be that kick behind play. The best thing that any side can do this year against them is just to be competative and try to make the most of your opportunities. They are pinned to not loose a game this year. I can only see SMOSH and to a lesser extent maybe Mitcham beating them. The rest of the ladder will fight for 2nd through to 10th.

i think smosh might of beaten them in a trial even with playing, didn't see the game so don't no if fliders where full strength or what. I suppose the thing to remember is that mitcham did beat PAC last year, I wouldn't be putting money on them to do it though but it wouldn't suprise me if they got some fire in the belly and did pull of a win against them.

Satchel are you planning a last minute training for saturday or you recon pembroke will show on saturday?

I raly dont know mate. I dont think it will be two weeks in a row thats for sure. The question has been asked but it wont happen. Its no good for any side or club to do it. The fines might not be too much but the overall look at it is. W ecant discount anyone to win any game. I couldnt remember taht Mitcham beat PAC. Massive effort if thats the case. PAC were unreal last year. Pretty much like FP this year but without a few of the current types of players FP have. Our ladder is looking liek The A's in regards to the 2 top spots being swept up and thrid looking like the same between Mitcham and us. 5th will be faught out by GG, Seaton, Pembroke (if they can fill a side) and to a lesser extent Pooraka. Im not saying that we will stay 4th or higher. I'm purely making reference to how it is at the moment.
