Goodluck to them.

Seen it all before, perhaps only one more year.

It's very hard to stay at number 1 in this competition.

I remember the great Hawthorn.

I remember the great Carlton.

I remember the great Essendon.

:D
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

Yes it is hard to stay number 1 for a long period of time. However if you look at the Pies at the moment you will see that the reason they are so good is that there second tier players have come along very well. they will be a force for a while yet, but they will eventually face the retirments of Swan, Pendleybury, Didak and Cloke. But in saying that they are in a very good postion if you look at there 2nd tier players like Daws, Ried, Sidebottom and Wellingham just to name a few. they are all very young and really not at the peak of there powers yet. Also Collingwood are as cashed up as your going to get so they will find it easier to attrack senior gun players under the free agency when it comes in.

isnt there some rule to transfers and reduced payments when a club wins and premiership to stop one team dominating all the time?

The current Collingwood side has got a fair way to go before it can even be considered great.

Don't even currently rule 2011
They are a very good side (make that awesome) who happen to be the Reigning Premiers from 2010.
However last time I looked a team called Geelong is sitting on the top at the moment.

If extra time had been played in the first GF, I wonder if this thread would exist.
Long way to go before they are considered the G word, got nothing on the Lions of the early 2000's or the Cats of the late 2000's, YET

They are a very good side but we won't really be able to judge how good/great they are, until another 3 or 4 years time.

If they win the flag again this year, they are as good as any mentioned in this thread. 3 or 4 years time. Pfftt

This thread mentions Brisbane who won 3. So Collingwood win another, that makes 2, so 2 is as good as 3?

Collingwood must be the first team to be ruling the AFL after facing their first real challenger and losing...

Geelong have been to the top in 07, oh so close in 08, back again 09, prelim last year, and are undefeated in 2011.
