Had my first look at Tailem Saturday and it was really impressive to watch. I know they are maxed out on points and have to play three kids but it is great to see this once powerful club starting to get back on its feet. If their top 5 or 6 players stay sound they have the potential to play finals football. Wark is as good as any player I have seen at this level. The Love boys are massive kicks and it will be interesting to see how Imps handle them this week. I know they are working on defensive zones but they wont work when the love boys can kick 70 metres. Will be good to watch.

Goldberg, Mypo are not a bad side but Bowen won everything in the ruck and they could not contain Wark and Rankine. They have a lot of runners but just lack a couple of dominant tall players to be genuine threats. In saying that I think most team are going to find it hard to handle Tailem in full flight.
Really exciting competition at present where a team could win 5 or 6 games and miss the 5. That has not happened for a long time. RMFL footy is in good shape.

Rumour in the Bridge is that the Chooks are looking at taking the Joel Kay incident further.

we had 2 RMFL umpires in our league (mallee) this week and they were by far the best umpires i've seen in our league since i've been involved out here.

1 was imp's old coach and the other was a ruckmen that has won a couple of medals not sure of his name.

Fielke & Lienert- 2 very good umpires & still learning the job.

I understand that there is a precedent for the league taking action when no report was made on the day.

Last year there was apparently a Reserves player suspended when the injured player's club followed the matter up with the RMFL.

I didn't really want to comment on this but then thought, I would if it was just an average player who had done the same thing so:

Weak as P!ss from a bloke who many young kids at the ground would have been very keen to watch play. If you come with big reputations, & on as he put it in the Sunday mail Big money or "where the money is", then u have an obligation to behave in a responsible manner. To elbow a bloke 40 meters off the footy, hard enough to break his jaw, or even in the region of the head at any level of intention is an absolute disgrace

Well said Goldy

Not to mention the fact that only 5 minutes earlier he should have been sent of for a similar incident.

He has been quoted as saying he wants to change the way Jervois go about there footy but to me that is taking it the other direction. In the past they have been known to be hard and aggresive, sometimes dirty but to stoop to that level is disgraceful on his behalf

Just in case this goes any further I've added a word, because I think it might!

Interesting discussion this one - and there was in fact a player suspended in the Reserves after the fact last year after he belted another player from behind. I believe the difference was that the goal umpire saw the whole thing and later put in the report.

I was not at the game on Saturday, however I have been told that both umpires saw the incident and neither felt that it warranted further action...

Like I said I wasn't there, but I wouldn't think 40m would be too much of an area to be looking... Was there three umpires umpiring the game??

Chris Ladhams will face the RMFL tribunal Tuesday night. By all reports he is in a deal of trouble. Apparently he is free to play this week however.

This one will be very interesting to watch. I'm sure there will be some boys at mannum licking there lips at the opportunity to stir him up and there wont be alot he can do.

I wonder if Jervois will keep paying him if he gets rubbed out for a decent period of time. And there begs another question, is he still allowed to coach?
