Why arent the ovals oval??

looking at the local grounds on near map, it was surpising to see that Elizabeth, Woodville, Norwood, Unley and Richmond all have straight wings... so basically being rectangles with rounded ends..

they were ovals once but continental drift put an end to that.

It also looks like Unley has been shortened to provide more room for the Tennis courts area on the Southern side.

Ha ha, I played a few games at Morphettville and literally saw people getting lost on the outer wing, I stuck to the clubrooms side. ;)

Prospects a retarded egg but at least it doesn't have straight wings, that really annoys me and shouldn't be allowed IMHO.
At least Adelaide oval is now an oval for the first time!

well is closer than what it was.. 1 side is about 5m narrower than the other

When they do the stand on the eastern side, I think you will find it will be a true oval.
