And you're dreaming if you think it will be Crows. Get real....

The crows are probably closer when you consider where there list is at compared to Port. The crows younger players have had a few more seasion into them then the Power young players.

I do doubt whether either side will be competative enough in 4-5 years considering where the Gold Coast, Richmond, Melbourne and probably the GWS with all there 17 year olds being young 20's will all be at. The Quality young players that espically the Gold Coast have and after hearing Clayton (GC list manager) talk yesterday you can understand how they are building. Its not just last years draft that people should be looking when it comes to players. The 93's people, there going to be ones that come to get us!
Anyway like I was saying, Port and Crows, well the crows are closer but the next 5 years is going to be tough.

 WILL win a flag within 5 years ?

Whilst nothing is impossible, either the power or the Crows will be doing extremely well to finish in the top 4 within 5 years.

Being realistic, there's a very real chance neither may score a flag in the next 20 - 30 years.
It's already been 13 & 7 years respectively for the Crows and Port.

Teams like Western Bulldogs & St. Kilda have given it a fair crack in the last 10 - 15 years and have come up empty and when were their last premierships?
St Kilda 1966 - 45 years drought
W. Bulldogs 1954 - 57 year drought (more than a lifetime for some people)

Don't know these "Cows" you speak of, but the Adelaide Crows will win another one a long time before Port do.

To say a team is unlikely to win a flag within the next 20-30 years is just nuts IMO. During that time the list turnover would have happened at least half a dozen times and coaches would have come and gone. I can understand people looking 5 years into the future but after that it is just pure guess work and most peoples opinions would be greatly affected by their bias for or against any given team.

Unlilely and a very real chance an event wont happen are two different things.
Just making a point that in an 18 team comp, it's very likely that there will be 4 - 5 teams that
that will have a 25 - 50 year or longer drought as there are already examples of.
Thats just the mathematics of it and Port or the Crows arn't excluded from that equation.

Thats fine and i understand it but except for those teams at the top right now (collingwood, geelong, hawthorn???) you could say it about any team in the comp. It doesn't make sense to narrow it your focus group down to two for a possibility that could effect the entire competition.

Just mentioning the Crows and Port as 90% of people on here follow one or the other and dont really care about the other clubs woes.

Just in talking quickly about other teams, the saints would be peaking at the moment, window is closed they are set to head in only one direction, how close did they come last season. It will be a few more years for them.

If we introduce a third team is my only hope, I'm 36 now and only have 30 years left in me at best.

BWAHAHA. Hawthorn are 5hit. Another two big men down last week. Lucky they only played the Saints who need a heart operation in the next pre-season.

Yes we know how much you hate hawthorn and will never rate them blah, blah, blah. Even after the two early injuries to have what was a 10 goal turn around was quite impressive. I put the question mark behind them because injuries and consistency are two problems i think they are going to face. Fact is they are a lot closer then most other teams in the comp to winning a flag as we speak.

All this hand wringing about how bad SA footy is going due to what's happening with the AFL clubs there and how radical things needed to be done to fix it reminds me of all that screeching coming from the Victorian "heartland" that the non-Vic clubs were going to dominate forever more and it was going to be tough for a Victorian club to win premierships from then on. Look what's happened since 2006.

Lucky the AFL didn't listen to calls for some kind of evening up program based upon perceived but non existent inequalities.

In other words: shut up Rucci.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
