Darksiders SCE has made 5 trades, but only one of them has been used to bring in a premium (Enright).

REBCats have been busy, making seven trades (perhaps another couple this arvo?).

Hondominators YSCC has made 6 trades and brought in Chapman and Harvey recently.

And me?

5 trades and have brought in 2 premiums (J-Roo & Chappy). Just wondering whether to sit tight this week.

I'm surprised that people are bringing in premiums from teams that have a bye in the last 4 weeks of the season. I've been taking a strategy of avoiding trading in premiums from those teams to lessen the liability come finals.

Same as me there ginger. Will hopefully get Chapman at some stage though

Round 5 Previews

REBCats vs. Hondominators YSCC

It's the first clash between these two sides since the 2009 Piglet Final with the honours shared at one apiece. I reckon this one will be really close but Hondo has Watson who should carve up the Brisbane Bears this week. REB's Tip - Hondo. :(

Hawkeye vs. Chardy socialists

The chardies had a poor week last week but the news was better for Woggy who opened his account. This is a vital match as the loser here drops to 1-3 but so far over the journey Hawkeye has been the more consistent scorers. REB's Tip - Hawkeye

Darksiders vs. FOOTYLEDGENS

The Cub opened his account as well last week but won't have the scoring power to unseat the Dark Side. REB's Tip - Darksiders.

Dusty Tunnels vs. The Ginger Ninjas

Gingernuts is growing in stature by the week and this time around he faces a tough challenge in the form of Dusty Tunnels. Like my match with Hondo this one will be a close game but the move to bring in Tippett just before the Gold Coast game could prove decisive. REB's Tip - Ginger Ninjas.

Boxhead United vs. Poon Army

Beware folks the army is on the march and his plethora of Essendon players should all score well up in Brisbane. This is not a good sign for the improving United. REB's Tip - Poon Army.

Blue_Guns vs. Woodys Dropkicks

The Dropkicks are in all sorts of strife here and appear to be chasing points. This season has been a shocker for him and the Blue_Guns look set to fire a fatal bullet. REB's Tip - Blue_Guns.

Mr Football vs. Far Q

Mr Football appears to be taking a 'keeping the powder dry' approach to the early rounds and this won't be enough to beat Q Man who has been in sensational early season form. REB's Tip - Far Q.

dunKsKrew vs. Squeakeroos DTC

This week's game has the most predicatable team in Hogg Premier up against the most unpredictable side. While you never know what sort of score Squeaky will pull poor old Duncs has been consistently average this season in a league where that just aint enough. REB's Tip - Squeaky.

Ginger, you reckon our game has the two weirdest captains of the round? Mundy for me and Tippett for you?
Damn selwood, had him captain last week but honestly tossed up between swan and mundy so at this stage I'm happy with my David Mundy selection. Good luck mate

Mundy will cop the Selwood tag, but Tippett is a spud, so you'll break even this week fellas.

Hondo by 51 points at half time of the Derby

REB - Ffye, Cox, Sandilands, Lower, Broughton, Darling
Hondo - Cox, Sandilands, Lower, Mundy

Should get there but Hondo has the 'runs on the board'.

Bugger. If the Ninjas got rid of their shithouse coach they might have a chance. Two games in a row now he's cost them with his stupidity!

Well played REB

I am struggling this last league 3 rounds ... 0-3!

Getting 7 from Smith really killed me as did another letdown from my mid bench cover, this time Bewick with 41

Yeah mate Brodie Smith was the clincher in our game. Pretty happy with that one as I've lost two close matches. Tight league! Scores pending.

The Darksiders remain the frontrunners in Hogg Premier League this season after recording their 5th straight victory over the Cub in Round 5. Not a good week to lose to the competition leader for the Cub as this week relegation rivals dunKsKrew and Woodys Dropkicks opened their accounts.

Kudos to Duncs here as his Krew top scored for the week in Hogg Premier which is a good effort as he was and remains ranked 16th on the table. Spare a thought for poor old Squeaky though who scored the second top score of the round but got done. That's Gotta hoit!

Most teams who managed to score 2000 were recorded with victory but you just can't feel sorry for Gingernuts after he made Tippett captain. Someone else who you can't feel sorry for is Hondo 'premiership every year' dominators YSCC who have now lost their third straight match for the year after he was Brodie Smiffed. However, the Hondo was 0-4 before claiming the Division I Premiership last season so he's far from done.

The shitter of the week award goes to Blue_Guns who must have plenty of em to only score 1724 and this paved the way for Woody's first ever victory in Hogg Premier League. All of the teams have shown something this season and as the year goes on it will get quite desperate as teams try to avoid the relegation zone.

Very unlucky for a coach who is still #1 for total points scored in this league.
