He has been struggling with the pace a bit but had his best game with 5 goals against one of the top sides last week. They just came of a 2 week break and he has worked hard on his fitness in that time from what the paper said today so he should improve over the coming weeks.

Are you just hoping someone will mention that Ramblers should have 4 or 5 good ins this week?

I'd be keen to hear from a Mannum person re the Chief, and how they think he's going? Seems from the outside he's been going about as well as the Roos themselves, which is not unusual for a key forward I guess? Certainly with vintage now done and dusted, he'd be able to get to training a bit more, so I would imagine his 2nd half of the season will be improved. Hopefully Mannum have some luck with injuries, and can have a full muster out there shortly.

Word from last week and a senior Roo's official is that they were running out of patience with the Chief.

I noticed Tailem got up by about 6 goals and kicked over 20 again. Hopefully Sporting Pulse will list goal kickers and best players soon for Tailem and Mypo.

Looks like Jervois got close to Ramblers, and another close one between Mannum and Meningie with the Bears fast finishers but this time the Roos held out to win.

Anyone noticed that Mannum list an additional number in their results?

http://www.sportingpulse.com/round_info ... 7-0&pool=1

I'm assuming its the allocated "points" to each player, if so its interesting that Gerardis and Kennedy are both 2 pointers.

Dont know what happened before but I made a "Quote" and it got rubbed

Anyway, Marchetti season ending knee injury, Button dislocated Knee cap (hopefully 4-6 weeks) and Joel Kay got his head stood on, broken jaw and he gave away the free. Well umpired!!!

I had some similar sentiments after seeing a game last week. I don't like to be overly critical but I was disappointed in the standard of umpiring I saw.

I would hate to write down what I really thought about todays umpires. Nothing at all to do with Jervois being in the game cos they played well, but when a high payed player/coach targets someone for half a game and gets away with it is a joke.

To be honest, it probably took something away from Jervois's game. They were pretty good today but a few stupid "hits" could have cost them

Biffboy and GWW yesterday was umpire appreciation day not umpiring bagging day. Perhaps you two may consider joining the umpiring ranks and show them how it supposed to be done.

I take your point its a tough gig FTO, I've tried to be as diplomatic as I could. Anyway its the last comment I'll make on the subject of umpiring in the RMFL.

Looking at this week's games:

Mannum v Jervois - the Roos will want to approach something near their best form soon as they haven't been overly convincing this year. Jervois have been competitive all year and may challenge the Roos for a half, but I think Mannum will probably win by about 7 goals.

Ramblers v Mypolonga - Mypo's form has been very disappointing since they upset Mannum a few weeks back. Even with injuries, Ramblers at home will be too strong, Roosters by 13 goals.

Imperials v Tailem Bend - this weeks game will be a test as to how much the Eagles have improved this year. Their top 3 or 4 players are as good as any in the league, however they don't have the depth that the Blues have. Tailem also are likely to struggle containing Imps key forwards. Imps by 8 goals.

we had 2 RMFL umpires in our league (mallee) this week and they were by far the best umpires i've seen in our league since i've been involved out here.

1 was imp's old coach and the other was a ruckmen that has won a couple of medals not sure of his name.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Fair call FTO.

The actual umpire involved in this incident is normally very good and fair and we cant expect them to see them all. The comment was a spur of the moment thought and I probably should have directed my anger at some of the Jervois players instead of the umps.

In general this year I think the umpiring standard is improving and with blokes like Fielke now joining the ranks, things should continue to get better
