Won't be a problem, they will just put in tempoary seating,

Which they dont allow

Anyway its going ahead now, will be interesting to follow its progress.

Interesting working in the same building as the SMA, in the coffee shop was Les Burdett this morning going thru some plans with some SMA people, reckon he will play a big part in the pitches part.

The first AFL match at Adelaide Oval is expected in 2014, with pre-season games predicted before that year's March election.

Didn't think it would happen this quick but sounds like plans already in place to eat into the cricket season with preseason games. Again a question that went unanswered, maybe for good reason.

From a cricket oval to a footy stadium

How do you explain this Hondo?????

The people who voted have been blinded by the $$$ signs.....

We have seriously taken a massive step backwards by going from 2 major venues down to 1

Looking at page 13 of the Advertiser this morning I have to ask: What happened to the 2 new stands having a roof?

By the time his thing is built well be lucky to have a new toilet block!

If you actually read the article:

The stadium will give cover to 77 per cent of the 50,000 seats, have 2000 dining spaces, hospitality suites, bars, food courts and barbecue terraces.

Typical we are always behind Melbourne even when we try to do something big.

Geez even Melbournes new soccer/rugby stadium has 100% undercover seats.

I am not the spokesperson for the SACA or the SMA or anyone!

It's a one liner is a press release so I don't know how credible or otherwise it is to conclude that the agreed time sharing will now change when we don't know the exact dates particularly with the talk of changes to the structure of our domestic cricket seasons and a reduction in the number of Shield games. It's too early I think to predict how it will work in March 2014.

It could just be Mike Rann spinning up the project without checking first with the SMA. Who knows.

You have to admit that our concerns about footy dominating are starting to be realized, first they couldn't guarantee the shield final and now they are talking up AFL preseason games at the Oval.

I'll admit I didn't think it would take under a month to happen

All this based on a one liner in a Mike Rann press release?

Lets just wait and see hey? There's a hell of a lot of water to go under the bridge before 2014.

I did read the article and it's irrelevent to my point about the picture.
For all we know that cover might be the trees on the hill or they pass out $2 brollys to most of the patrons!

We are talking about a little soccer pitch. I thought Aussie Rules supporters were tough. So what if you get a few drops of rain on ya.

Good news TSG, SACA have booked the new Stadium for the Shield final for March 21, 2024. What is everyone whinging about, we haven't hosted since 95/96, 15 years ago, if by some chance we actually get to host one, footy will say, ah well, once very 15 years is not bad. And just so you know, they have always said that the stadium will have 70 odd % cover, so why is it such an issue now. I would hate to imagine what the EPL supporters would say to you mob, it rains every second day over there and they still turn up in their droves. TTFU.

WGAF what Anne Moran thinks ...

“They could chop down every tree and concrete the parklands and while there would be public outrage, there’s nothing we could do.”

I'd be more concerned about the North Adelaide Society closing off roads leading to the Western suburbs to stop the unwashed public mixing with the social elite ... ^#(^

If the Crows were due to have a home final against Melbourne would they happily play the final at another ground if cricket wanted the oval for that period of time.

Obviously the times wouldnt overlap but that would be a simliar case.
