Which team tagged Scarlett this season?

St Kilda - full court press not exactly tagging Scarlo
Fremantle - Freo also implementing a press but take more risks than this year's Saints model.
Port - no pressure at all
Sydney - Scarlo run amok and was BOG
Hawthorn - No tag on Scarlo there
North - very similar to the Port game

regards,

REB

I believe both Jordan Lewis (Hawthorn) and Sam Wright (Kangaroos) have both had forward tags on him in previous weeks.

I'm not so sure that was what was happening.

I didn't say he did a good job, but there was certainly a negating role by both mentioned players on Scarlett in both of those matches.

i think collingwood will get the job done comfortably and re-asserting there dominance over the comp and that will lead to a bundle of money being placed on them to be premiers on the sat morning
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

How do I put this without offending REB. ;) Even though Geelong are undefeated, the only good win I have seen was against Hawthorn and maybe Freo. I think Collingwood will be looking forward to the challenge this week. Hope the game lives up to the hype.

Too bloody right. If I want to read people bagging the Cats I'll read Walls, Lane or Sheehan. We've slid all the way down to second this year. Waddya know? That's where we finished at the end of the minor round last year.

Very evenly matched side, however I am tipping Geelong to get over the line, by 22 points.

I think our forwards, J-Pod, Mooney, aren't going to do a heck of a lot, but the midfielder/forward types like Chappy/Stevie/Duncan/Ling/Stokes/Corey/Varcoe... Oh dear... I've just proved my point...

I honestly think that with Collingwood, you have two or three guys to really stop, and that ruins all avenues to Cloke... Oh I mean to goal...

With Geelong, if you put a stopper on three or four, there's just so many to pick up the slack...

So why didn't anyone try this last year. Tag Pendles and Swan...game over?

Fact is, what you say about Geelong - "if you put a stopper on three or four, there's just so many to pick up the slack" - is exactly what makes Collingwood great. Tag Didak, but Blair kicks five goals. Diminish Pendles influence, but Swan gets forty touches. Keep Cloke quiet, but Dawes bags a few.

FWIW I think the respective midfields will probably be allowed to go head-to-head, especially with Otten being the dominant ruck. However, I can see Ling playing forward to tag Shaw and Scott will hope to minimise Maxwell's influence by sacrificing a tall forward to dummy him out of the game (as Malthouse has previously done to curb Lake's rebound when they've played the Bullies). Likewise Malthouse will have plans to keep Scarlett busy and may forward tag Enright.

Completely off-topic, but when did "defensive forward" become a player who applies a "forward tag?"

Collingwood will get up here, they will be too good for them I would think.
But the Cats arent as bad as people would think without ablett. They have seen some good signs from younger players and some players like Johnson moving in the midfield just as an example. It will be interesting to see how that forward line will go against collingwood when supply wont be as good. Anyway looking forward for a good game this week, hopefully.

The Pies will win by 12 goals. Cats clearly on the slide. We should just play the kids and rest the old blokes for next week's blockbuster against Carlton.

Is Ottens playing? He is named in the team but doesn't have a green dot next to his name in SuperCoach...

Blockbuster fatigue.

The AFL should move this game to the MCG too. **** Docklands.

And the MCG carparks are closed due to rain......

Those green dots, red dots, band-aids etc are consistently wrong.
