Not rumours CP.... Very worrying times for some, we should be ok here in Australia even though its technically illegal to play for real money online..

here are some links to articles about the American Government cracking down on the online poker sites

I think it's a good idea to stop on-line gambling. :D

Some people can't control themselves. :(

I feel sad for them and their families... :(

Online gambling advertising makes winning look very easy. :(

I wonder if there is any support for games a bit later? 8.00 is generally a bit early for me personally. Just a thought

I know this thread is for online poker but i just wanted to mention that the Brahma Lodge Footy Club now has live (i guess you could call it 'pub') poker on a Friday Night hosted by Elite Poker Australia. I was thinking about arranging a night where i can get all interested SAFooty members down for a meet and greet or a catch up as i recall a few poster on here saying we should do that.

Registration is from 6:30 and the tournament kicks off at 7:30. There is a BBQ that gets cooked for anyone who is hungry and wants to come down for a bite to eat. The tournament is a $10 buy in (all buy-ins go to the prizepool) and the format is a 4k starting stack with the option to spend $20 over the bar and/or BBQ for a further 4k. I believe it is 20minute blinds for the first few levels and then 15 minute blinds for the remainder.

It is a good fun night, getting roughly 30-40 people at the moment so if you are doing nothing come down and have a look.

So if you are interested in coming down as a group in a month or 2 then let me know (i might start a seperate thread if we get enough interest) or if you want to just come down and say g'day then ill be working behind the bar before i take all your money on the felt :)
