Yea we got off to a flyer with 5 goals to none in the first 15 minutes and went into 1/4 time 4 goals up. From there during the 2nd and 3rd quarter there intensity lifted yet we got 6 goals in front a couple of times then they kept coming back at us but could never narrow the margin down to 2 goals. In the last we got out again to around 6 goal lead and to Seatons credit they fought back but ran out of time. Overall they are a much better side than last year and they really took it to us after the first quarter. When they where on espec in the last 5 minutes of the game they were hard to stop.

Certainly some pretty good players out at Seaton still, definetely improved on last year. Whilst we had it over them most of the day, the last quarter surge they put on us was impressive and showed they are capable of some pretty good footy. Marshall was solid most of the day, #6 Leahy had some serious speed on him, and #8 Brusnahan on the wing put it all day. Obviously some tallent in the 2's as well as they knocked off our blokes, and we had a pretty reasonable side on the park. Portland will have to be on their game next weekend that's for sure.

Golden grove at home for us will be interesting, certainly won't be taking them lightly. We need to show that we can beat the lower placed sides and beat them well, last season proved just how important % is come the end of the season.

Lipson and Waering made us look stupid and I gotta say, well done to them both cos the boys on the hill gave them plenty but they responded with goals so in the end we were eating humble pie. We haven't got a guy in form at the minute, in fact after the game we held a competition to draw a football and there was no winner... Our ball movement was slow and sloppy, our team work was below par and our pressure and attempt at thinking football just wasn't there. We got whooped basically. The B grade game ended up being a good win for us after a slow start and despite us having way more of the footy we just couldn't capitalise. Every time Portland had it they used it well, they just needed to get it a bit more. But a good game, played in good spirits. Spkoe to a few of the Portland boys in teh carpark after the game and they seem like a good bunch of lads.

One last thing. After the game the Portland lads outnumbered us 2 to 1 in the rooms which in my eyes is p1ss poor from our club and a huge credit to them. Yeah we had a poker night on and a few lads went home to get changed etc but our turn out for a beer afterwards was pathetic and probably represents where we are right now.

Well done Portland in all aspects of the day. Look forward to the return bout.

That was prety much the opposite back at our home deck mate. I sat down with your ump Mitchell and 5 GG lads and had a beer with them. I was the only one back after the game from our side! Agree ity;s not the best thing to have the visiting side out numbering your own but at least your guys stayed back and had a chat which was great.

Its the Facebook generation of footballers. They'd rather go home and update their status than come and have a quick beer in their own clubrooms after the game!

Yes that was me piccachu. Happy that my B's got up but disappointed that the A's are going so bad... And yes mate, don't worry, every guy on the hill that was throwing comments out knew full well that we were getting pumped but I guess by then we had to amuse ourselves somehow !! The only thing giving us any joy was our p155 poor attempts at being funny....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

This weeks game will be the match of the round. We are starting to gel and with that i hope our 2's can spring into some form. The comments on Us needing to be on our A game is true but so will Seaton. The noteriety of the game and the rivalry that has formed since it got too hard for some (yes i said it again) will be intense and should make what will be a cracker game. I will be looking forward to what happens on Saturday not just on the field just quietly ;)

Should be played on a Sunday. Would get a bloody huge crowd down there, I'd make the effort to drive all that way to see the game :D

Really wish we could all see the Seaton Portland game this weekend...could someone record it? Seaton have definately improved....they've got some really good young kids coming through and the big unit up forward was unstoppable. A guy that size shouldn't be that good at ground level but he seems to pull it off everytime the ball hits the deck. Maybe someone from seaton can answer if the guy in the black singlet on the sidelines was involved with the club or if he was just a random junkie watching a game of footy? Guys like that really make a football club look bad. A bit of banter on the sidelines is all good fun but actually trying to start fights with the other club before a game was pretty ordinary!

didn't think golden grove were that bad on the weekend, tried their guts out all day despite there coach throwing the towel in half way through the second term! felt sorry for there players as they were having a crack but with the coach playing a 9 man backline were never really a chance! looked good on the rebound a couple of times but with 1 0r 2 blokes forward of the canter square was always going to be hard to kick enough goals! appreciate the beer after the game too! p.s number 6 did eat all the pies

I think you will find choc that for some reason the hot water wasnt working saturday in the home rooms. This isnt the first time its happened  and i feel that if the club wants a serious turn out after games it has to fix that. Id much rather drive 5 mins down the road for a hot shower than the freezing water that was on offer.

Also well done to the portland lads the had a real presence in our rooms afterwards and it makes you look like a strong close unit. Good bunch of blokes too, i enjoyed the beer i shared with a few of them.

Probably handy for players that MacAdam isn't playing this week, now there won't be any confusion with him and Loechel playing in the same game.

I need a chance to tally the weekend's tips before the new ones get submitted, sorry for any inconvenience but it gets too messy otherwise, more than happy for someone else who has a vested interest to take them over though.
Should have div. 2 sorted soon and hopefully the div. 3 one by the time I leave work today.

I'm with everyone else - would love to be at the Seaton/Portland game this weekend.

I fancy portland with Lipson back in, though have plenty of respect for The Ramblers.

if there was a 'either side under 15.5' bet, i reckon I'd have the house on it - sure to be a close one!

Anyone think Seaton can knock them off?
