Districts started off with a 100pt hiding of plympton. I think a few teams in Blue would be glad to see the back of the Districts lads, Smosh in particular. Well done to young Rosey backed up his 5 goals in the A grade on saturday with 4 yesterday and I think he's still only 16, how he can't get a game at Port 18's is a mystery

No disrespect to Hope Valley but looking at the Eastern Park side they had a lot of talent out of their side yesterday, at least 4 or 5 that are playing div 1 and a few more that are playing div 1 reserves. I heard they had a big party on Saturday night that cost them a few players and a few slow movers yesterday.
Word on street is that Salisbury West are the team to beat, we'll see what happens as the season progresses.

Was told by someone from Eastern Park that they had a dozen or so lads that played a/b on Saturday that played yesterday and he also mentioned the party. I think most u18/s have a party every week and I have also noticed that a lot of the clubs are playing there u18's in the a/b grades on saturday's. I think Eastern Park shoud try stay up in div1 and if that means not winning the u18's flag I think it will be for the benifit of the club. Hope Valley are no good :) just flying under the radar LM.

Just commenting on what I do know, I had a fair bit to do with this age group and always have a keen interest in players from other clubs to see how they are faring.
Eastern Park had Coad, Biggs, Dietrichson not play on Sunday but I'm sure they'll squeeze 4 games in along the way.
I think it will be a tight comp, Golden Grove are traditionally a force in this grade, obviously your lads had a good win, Elizabeth have some handy players, albeit most of them are in their 1st year of 18's and Westies have some real talent in their line up. Salisbury mustn't be that far off the mark either as they didn't get belted by the West.
I'll be out watching the Salisbury vs Elizabeth clash this week so I'll get a better gauge on things.

Good on our Elizabeth lads having their 1st win in our 1st ever U18s game.
Some very handy players in our side. Iv watched most of this batch come up from U12s when we were struggling to fill any higher junior grades in 2005. They have mostly stuck together and a lot of credit must be given to those kids for sticking with the Eagles when they could of easily gone to more successful junior clubs. Wifey wont let me out sundays to see many games but i really wish the lads the best of luck for 2011 :)

Hey LM are you just taking a keen interest in the Under 18 Red Comp or are you involved somehow? Is your son playing/what's he doing?

I coached this age group for a few years so I like checking on the progress of the lads from the rival clubs aswell. I don't have anything to do with it and yes, the lad is playing for Elizabeth.

Hope Valley beat Salisbury West by 1 point today. Good win by the boys. All the hard work they've been doing on the track certainly seems to be paying off on the field

RED GROUP ROUND 4 RESULTS
Modbury: Modbury 9.6(60) def. Salisbury North 5.6(36)
Salisbury West: Hope Valley 8.1(49) def. Salisbury West 7.6(48)
Harpers Field: Golden Grove 15.13(103) def. Elizabeth 6.8(44)
Salisbury: Eastern Park 24.12(156) def. Salisbury 2.3(15)

Hope Valley came up the goods thanks to some accurate kicking to defeat early favourite Salisbury West in a spirited away win. Golden Grove proved too strong for Elizabeth at Harpers Field, Elizabeth will find it tough as most of their players are first year 18's, it will be a good learning curve for them though. Eastern Park will be a bogey side for most, you wont know who'll you be coming up against from week to week, watch out come finals time.

PREMIERSHIP TABLE
Golden Grove..................77.7 (8)
Hope Valley....................66.9 (8)
Salisbury West................70.7 (6)
Eastern Park....................71.5 (4)

Elizabeth.........................54.0 (4)
Modbury..........................26.3 (2)
Salisbury.........................18.5 (0)
Salisbury North..................15.1 (0)

ROUND 5
Dwight Reserve: Eastern Park vs Salisbury West
Hope Valley: Hope Valley vs Golden Grove
Argana Park: Elizabeth vs Modbury
Salisbury North: Salisbury North vs Salisbury

I'm picking Eastern Park to take the choccies at home against Westies in a tight one by 11-20.
Golden Grove to retain top spot in another gruelling match vs The Valleys by 11-20.
Elizabeth to take care of Modbury by 41-50 at home.
Salisbury to break the drought by 21-30 points for their journey down Waterloo Corner Road.

The top 4 will come down to the wire with 5 sides all capable of beating each other on any given day, the bottom 3 seem to be all around the same mark.

ROUND 6
Elizabeth vs Hope Valley (Argana Park)
Salisbury vs Modbury (Salisbury)
Salisbury North vs Eastern Park (Salisbury North)
Salisbury West vs Golden Grove (Salisbury West)

Should be 3 interesting games this week, Salisbury West will be hoping to gain some players back after they had a depleted list and went down to an almost full-strength Eastern Park.
Elizabeth square off to undefeated Hope Valley to give them an indication of where they are at.
Salisbury and Modbury should be a somewhat entertaining clash. I'll go the following:
Valleys 21-30.
Salisbury 1-10.
Eastern Park 100+.
Golden Grove 11-20.
