They got beaten easily in the end but it would be a long time since Ramblers have been scored against so heavily. Some excellent signs for Tailem and the competition in general.

Perhaps the highest scored against them in one quarter since Imps smashed Ramblers late in the 09 season.

Tailem were very impressive in the third and will no doubt notch up a few wins this year. They have a very quick midfield once there confidence is up and with the big ruckman will be hard to stop.

In saying that, Ramblers main ruckmen were both out with injury which could have stemed the flow a bit. You had a former Sturt player rucking against a 17 year old kid and a reserves ruckman who is probably not even 6 ft tall.

Love and Wark are really classy players for Tailem and IMO if they get another gun recruit which is the whisper, they will continue to push the top sides.

No doubt Ramblers were very disappointed with there 3rd quarter effort but it was really only one bad quarter so no panic stations there yet, maybe just a good wake up call after towelling imps in the last round.

Will be interesting to see if Tailem do add to their recruits as they appear to be using maximum points already. Their issue beyond this year, will be to hold onto their quality players. Looking at the league as a whole, it looks like Meningie have gone slightly backwards and they will need to show improvement to hold onto their place in the 5. Unless Mannum picks up their form and fitness, this could be the year we see an Imps/Ramblers grand final.

Also something to mention, Matthew Seyers was runner for Imperials on saturday, he hasn't been able to play in past due to not enough time so maybe we will see Seyers pull on the boots this year and to go with Trewen the Imperial forward line will be dangerous with adding Luke Harrowfield, Jaime Honner who both played up there yesterday. Totally difrent body language and skills by imperials yesterday compared to ramblers a fortnight ago.

Can't see him playing to be honest. Collins has been very big on not picking guys until their fitness levels are up to scratch and they have trained enough - as far as I am aware Seyers doesn't have the time to commit to training on a regular basis, and with numbers abounding at the moment at Imps I can't see him pulling on the guernsey. I have seem him out on times pounding the pavement so he is obviously keeping up his fitness, but I don't think we'll see him in an Imps guernsey this year, as much as I hope it does happen!!

Some interesting results, with Imps v Mypolonga not as close & Tailem v Ramblers closer then people expected. Could be a season of "Full lists wins games" as it seems to be the case so far!

Ramblers to good for meninge 60+points
Imps in a close one over mannum
Jervois over Tailem but dont be surprised if theres an upset. Watch out for warren Love, damaging player

I think thats Owen Love, biff, he will certainly add to Tailem's midfield. Whether they have enough tall blokes to take a make in the forward line and convert may be the difference between a win and a loss. The other problem is they're playing 2 or 3 under 17's, which in addition to their bottom 5 players being quite inexperienced, they may not be able to run the game out as well as Jervois. I think Jevois will probably get them over the line by about 3 goals.

Hopefully Mannum can get a win after the recent tragic event, with a bit of luck the Roos will be inspired to win against the Blues, I think playing at home though Imps will probably win by about 5 goals though.

Ramblers at home, presumably will be too strong for the Bears, 10 goal margin sounds about right.

Agree with you biffboy

Think Ramblers way to strong for Meninge will win very comfortably on Meninge's form so far this year. Ramblers by 60-70 points

Imps will pretty much have a full strength team on the park this week if the mail is correct and if they play like they did against the tigers they will be very hard to beat on their home deck. But Mannum will be looking to roll them to prove they are still right up there this year and will be there at the end of the season. Imps in a close one 10-20 points only cause on their ground.

Jervois to have to much up forward for Tailem to hold all day. Tailem will get alot of it through the midfield you would think but will not have fire power and will break down past centre half forward. Jervois in a tight one by under 3 goal. but wouldn't be surprised to see Tailem get the choclates if they can kick enough goals.

Can we expect the Chief Kennedy to open his account for Mannum tomorrow?

Nice pic Duke

Kennedy would definately want to do something soon, been pretty quiet with all the hype around him when he came to Mannum

Good for Tailem

Ramblers had a 31 goal to 7 goal win over Meninge. More importantly for them though is the boy wonder Ben Dougall had his first game for the year. Massive in!

I managed to catch the Tailem v Jervois game on Saturday.

Some observations:
- both clubs rely on a core of key players (in particular Ladhams for Jervois and Wark for Tailem), however both clubs have much improved depth compared to last season
- Owen Love would be one of the longest kicks of the footy I've seen in country football
- Jervois' first quarter, particularly their inaccuracy, probably cost them the game.
- Tailem's attack was impressive to kick over 20 goals, however it was their defence that impressed me.
- the umpires - well I'll be diplomatic and won't comment on the umpiring.

Both Imperials and Mannum will take a lot out of the game yesterday. Imps were at full strength and would have been expected to win. Mannum have not played for three weeks and only got run over late. They will be a real threat when they get it all together. I have no doubt that at their best both of these teams are genuine premiership threats.

There is a video on YouTube from last years Aboiriginal Carnival. Owen, playing for Raukkan, kicked a goal from near the centre circle at Imps towards the freeway end - must've been a 70m+ kick.... Absolute booming kick.

As for the Imps Mannum game - Mannum obviously came out full of passion and ran Imps ragged for the first quarter - Imps somehow snuck a goal in the first quarter when they didn't look like touching the footy. Once the game levelled out I think Imps class shone through.... and no one could stop Jamie Honnor in the last quarter.....

If Imps can fix their slow starts they will be very hard to beat.... Ramblers the only ones who have managed to make the most of Imps slow starts so far....

Are you sure that was Owen? I actually thought it was Ray, but coul be wrong. Both blokes great footballers and both of them definitely have long kicks on them.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!
