Not sure what you mean MT79. A few people have suggested that people should protest against Equestrian events - do they think there are animal welfare concerns with Equestrian?mighty_tiger_79 wrote:there should be, if these protesters were serious

You still haven't answered the question - are there any animal welfare issues with Equestrian or not?bayman wrote:with the arguement that jumping is unsafe there is obviously the link to both sports, i still think the 'safe hurdles' are mainly to blame because horses lose respect when they realise they can skim through the jump rather than actually jump it & this is what they are supposed to do & this is why mistakes are more prevelant than in yesteryearfish wrote:Not sure what you mean MT79. Dutchy was the one who suggested Equestrian was worthy of protests. I'm still struggling to find out why? People who protest about jumps racing do so because of the deaths and injuries to horses - are deaths and injuries to horses the same frequency in Equestrian? Can anyone provide an answer or statistics about this?bayman wrote:you asked specifically about 'welfare'fish wrote:How many horses have been killed or injured in Equestrian this year?bayman wrote:no more or no less than in racing
& before you ask when we say equestrian we really mean show jumping, & yes i've gone to the showjumping at the club next to the airport & obviously at the royal show as well
