Rivers out for Melbourne, not that he is in great form, but a tall defender out is gonna help us greatly.

Crows by 25,

If it rains, i think Melb could get up though.

40% change of 1-5mm according to the Elders website. If it does rain then I think Sloane and Petrenko's return will be very timely, two blokes you definitely want in your team on a wet day at the 'G.

Gee hasn't Sellar come from nowhere for a possible gig this week.

I think his performances when given a go at AFL level havent been to bad and dont mind him at CHB if required.

Yea he's an interesting one. Just seems to plod along for Glenelg but really hasn't done too much wrong when ever he has been picked for Adelaide.

I agree, certainly happy for him to be given a run this week.

I must be the only one not impressed with him at AFL Level. Looks lost. Gunston in for mine.

They have recalled Bate and Pettard to go along side Watts. They arent massively tall players so Schmidt and Thompson can do the job on 2 of them with Truck taking who ever plays out the square.

Really nervous about this game, in fact, I don't have a very good feeling. We really should win as we are coming off a good win and Melbourne are terrible, but you never know which Adelaide side will rock up.

Also, Callinan shouldn't be too far away from resuming (again a rookie who will need to be upgraded).

Big test against Melbourne, one of the 'should win' games.

They have upgraded to rookies already, they will have to put Davis on the long term injury list to upgrade another. But every club can upgrade a rookie after round 11. Callinan is out of the sling and slowlybworking his way back and willnlook to play SANFL in round 8 to 10, and Timmy milera is playing well for port magpies, but he is a fair way away from afl

I reckon Timmy Milera is a little opportunist player. If they upgrade, I would give him a crack and say play with your instincts and I reckon he could surprise a few!

Tough game.

I think we really ran into an ambush today. Don't get me wrong, Adelaide were very poor, but Melbourne copped a baking all week from the media and their supporters, and they were fired up today.

Adelaide, I thought the forward line was good on the few times it actually got down there (Tippett was exceptional given the limited supply), and the defence battled manfully all day. The midfield however, oh dear. Absolutely smashed. Jacobs got belted in the ruck, a big reminder that he is only an 18 game player despite his promise. Around the ground and at stoppages we were just spectators.

Now we all hold our collective breath against the Gold Coast this week.

Would have to be the worst performance i have ever seen by a crows team!
Credit does need to go to Melbourne, but i have never seen a crows team play 4 quarters of soft football like that!
Our tackling, chasing and work rate was non existant.
Not to many positives to take out the game.
Tippett should have had 5 or 6, was man handled all game.
And someone please explain the holding the ball rule to me again :? Even more fustrating when your team is down by 10 goals!

after my nice train journey down to the game, i was greeted with consistent rain/drizzle for the 2 hours before the first bounce. melbourne were up and about early and the crows weren't able to counteract or compete with their fervent mentality. Clearances killed us and melbourne were able to move the ball forward with ease all to regularly. Sitting next to fence you could clearly yell the voice coming from the melbourne players all day long yet not a peep from the crows. Probably an understatement but really missed a strong CHB presence yesterday both definsively and offensively. at least there is next week to help you forget about such a horrible performance.

Chris Schmidt is a dead-set spud. Looked awful.
Petrenko came on and did four fifths of SFA.
Two INS for this week of the three that were dead-set disasters.
Surely Gunston is streets ahead of these two muppets.

Three positives: Rory Sloane, Kurt Tippett, Graham Johncock.
Moving on.

THat just shows how bad everyone else played yesterday. Stiffy looked like he had no confidence at all at some stages.

I reckon if any section needs the heat turned up on it - it's the midfield for sure.

The defence was under seige all day yesterday. Johncock did what he could, but when it just keeps coming in there's just nothing you can do. I don't think is was a lack of confidence you saw OS, it was more despair at the lack of support up the ground IMO.

The forwards were completely starved of opportunity, and did what they could, even working up the ground to try and get things happening.

The midfield needs to have a good hard look at the tapes this week. Did nothing. Barely won a clearance, and allowed Melbourne to transition from defence to attack so easily it just looked like they were doing circle work around witches hats.

Fingers crossed Thompson's calf isn't serious. Vince needs to come back in. Still think Henderson needs a spell in the SANFL - gotta say I would've dropped him last week ahead of Martin. Sloane will be better for the run.
