Surely that depends on whether Porties are in it?
I reckon South Adelaide - what are there attendances like for past GFs?

Thats a good point FM, what does happen if Pt Noarlunga are in it ? Excuse my ignorance, but how long has it been played at Sth Adel ? I havent seen Pt Noarlungas ground, but surely facilities are better at South.

The only problem with Porties always getting the GF is who benefits from all the extra income ???
It is what it is !!!

I was at the Last GF at Porties, all the trouble was caused by underage kids drinking and fighting. Was out of control at stages and reason why moved. The fencing at Porties is hard to police. Great ground though I thought.

Funniest thing was the scorer falling asleep in the B Grade GF, officials banging on box to wake him up :)

You guy's are off ya rocker if you think the GF should be played back at Porties, any sanfl ground is better than Porties.

The Porties people want it back there cause the money they made from those days are gone, hence the reason why players are leaving Porties and going country- cause country got the coin !!!

I will say porties has the big oval and lots of room for parking but even that was geeting to small and to say the facilities are only marginally better at SANFL ground you have to be off your rocka. What i would like to see is the SFL share the grand final around and use glenelg and westies aswell.

After attending one of the recent GF's at South Adelaide, it just doesn't have the feel of an SFL grandfinal day.

I remember going to porties to watch all the time and it was always a must attend day even if your team wasn't playing in the main game.

Always a great atmosphere, smells, noise and a great all round day. Just a pitty those little fools from a couple of the well known clubs couldn't act like most sensible people and behave.

I doubt we will see a return to porties, unless of course all the clubs were for it or they said they will not play unless it is held at porties.

Havn't been there for a while and agree the atmosphere wasn't as good as a grand final at porties but getting a beer and something to eat was easier to do at windy hill. SFL has out grown porties and it is only a matter of time befor the crowd gets bigger and the atmosphere comes back, that why i would like to see it down the bay, not as open as Noarlunga and would suit smaller crowd.

Agreed! The GF needs atmosphere.

I'm with qwerty, the atmosphere of the day meant you went to the GF no matter who was playing. As it stands now, you need to have one of your clubs' teams represented to consider going....

The reason why it was such a dull atmosphere last year is because M Vale and Reynella were playing again.

If the SFL were to have Cove and brighton in the GF or any other team for that matter i bet it would get packed again no matter where it was played.

Look if you want the league to improve, you need to have the GF at a ground which is neutral and where you don't have kids runnning around drinking alcohol after their Under 16's and Under 18's GF.
That is the big issue - clubs make their own atmosphere and for all the kids, they would want to win a GF at a League ground so that they can one day tell their kids about it.
It's also a positive for the relationships with the League Clubs.
So - from my perspective - good on the SFL for doing something positive - for doing something which promotes the game and gives the kids an opportunity to play on a league ground.
You don't want to see people fighting on the ground and kids losing it because they have drunk too much.
And you don't want to see Porties get their spending money for the following year ...touche!!!

I agree Croc, my best under age GFs were on league grounds where I went on to play league footy.
Only thing better was playing the SGL GF with 10 screaming harleys making up the players race for us to run through.
South Adel should be first option, especially for kids and all clubs should get the option of putting on a food or drink stand around the oval so everyone gets a dollar or two, the panthers can have the gate takings or vice versa.

i was lucky enough to play in the last GF at porties, although we lost, the atmosphere of running out onto the ground was the most amazing thin i've experienced. i havnt played in one at South, but my mates that have say it's got nothing on Porties.i'd be all for taking it back to porties,as most players i've spoken to about this would too.

Too many young kids that can't handle their grog is the problem at porties. At south recently there has been the emus in just about every grade and the winies in seniors. If they were a better spread of teams there might be a bit more atmosphere the crowd a bit more spread out, but its up to the other teams to do something about that. I have heard the SFL is very happy at South and a Night GF may not be a silly idea.
