I'm sure you will fine, there are a few decent backs running around. I'm still struggling with a hammy so fingers crossed it will be ok when we play you, if you are still in the magoos that is :)

A good hard fought win by our boys yesterday.
Lions jumped us early in the 1st, as we simply didn't want to do the hard work to get the footy. Losing Brodie Cox to an apparent Hamstring in the first 3 minutes really hurt our structure.
We steadied, but perhaps should have been a few more behind than 3 goals to 1.

We were solid in the 2nd quarter as we started to find the ball. We held Lions scoreless for the quarter, but unfortunately late in the quarter Ben Trewartha rolled his ankle and was done for the day.

We started well in the 3rd as well and really looked like running away with it, until Clinton O'Connor gave the Lions a spark from his wing dominating the middle 15 minutes and getting Lions back in the game. Lions hit the front late in the quarter, before a late goal got us back in front.

We were able to kick some goals early to widen the gap, with the game still in the balance Lions missed a few opportunities. The final 15 minutes was where we were able to score a bit more freely and make the margin look comfortable. The game was alot closer than the final margin.

Daniel Dohnt best for us, Brett Jones (my best), Lee Schmidt kicked 4, Brock Laube & David Robinson combined well in the ruck, Greg Shirley was solid down back.

Very proud of the club as a whole yesterday. The U/18's beat last years premiers, with a gutsy effort. The B's recorded their 1st round 1 win in 6 years against last years minor premiers.

Looking forward to West vs Central today...........then bring on round 2 :D

Gonna b a good season also looks like all teams are evenly matched. Great come back by Westies unlucky not to get the points if you ask me. also like to see how much depth south have this week after losing a few. Didnt see alot running around in their 2nds but they did play as a team.

Was a good game to watch, played in 2 halves, Could have went either way. I believe Centrals still have 7 or 8 players to come back in. Was that Wests best side? or are they missing a few?

I did notice Feltus but i didn't think that he would be apart of your future plans for the season however i did notice a lad that played in the midfield wore number 9 played quiet well

West are missing a couple of players notable ones I would say would be Scott Foulis, Leon Mcintosh and Joel Dodd all would have been handy. Plus you got a few in the 2nds that once fit would be pushing for selection(Zubanich, Mckerlie/O'Brien maybe throw in young Dempsey Kelly)

Number 1 & 3 J.Neary and T.Underwood in best for Ports in the win.

Couple of high quality players there I'd say they will have a very good year and not too many teams will be able to stop them.

Super fit, skillful pure footy players.

That was one belter of a game, very good standard for a first round game.

Interested to see if that standard can continue through out the year.
