Are Westies the real deal ?

Postby bayman » Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:41 pm

well someone had to do it

i've seen them twice & yes at full strength they are the real deal, they have a top 3 team for sure, however i'm not convinced they have the depth to cover injuries if they have a bad run with injuries
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Do we have the June Premiers already? ;)

Just kidding Westies folk, I think your side has improved considerably enough to be a force in finals this year, I have been impressed with their form so far for sure...

Well done on your start to the season, but as I'm sure all footy fans know, including Bloods supporters, there is still a long way to go in the season...

As others have pointed out, I also think the competition will be a very even one this year but I do feel, without much doubt at all, that West WILL play finals in 2011...

I think West supporters have every reason to be optimistic about 2011, and at their best, West will be very hard to beat.

I am hoping so, but realistically that is all so far. We have beaten North in their first game under Francou and then two sides who were terrible on the night. The best time to play Sturt is them coming off a big win and Centrals were uncentralslike. Games against South and Port may not tell us too much more (danger games though) about their genuineness. Glenelg,Norwood and the real Centrals and Eagles will be the real barometers. Don't forget where Norwood were this time last year. The round 9 ladder will be very interesting this year.

Very early days for them, but far and away the best side I have seen so far this season. Playing a much longer kicking, attacking game and getting numbers around the stoppages quickly to try and move it on if the opportunity arises. Would be happy that some of the players that have been in the second half of their team, have really stepped up early to take some pressure off, while the topliners are also lifting. Exciting to watch, but yes, still only round four.

So far so good ...

.... then again I remember the Eagles being league leaders and the last unbeaten team a year or two back ... dont think we ended up with the premiership.

What these early wins do is generate momentum and confidence and given you an early buffer against other teams battling for a finals berth.
